Had a wall mounted shopvac that developed a crack at the mounting hinge. Manufacturer wanted a photo of the power cord cut before they sent me a new one. Received the new one and gave the "destroyed" one to a friend who replaced the 110V power cord and now has a good as new shopvac.

Thanks guys, I'd never heard of it before and with it being like 4 months old it seemed like a waste,

Now I'm kinda pissed I bought another sensor lol

Yeah, go figure. I suppose it’s cheaper for them to refund you as opposed to fixing and shipping back and forth. With that attitude, why would they care if it’s “destroyed” or not! It cost them the same either way.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who fixed something like that! :D

Anyone new to this thread, if you're interested in upgraded studs for the SC tensioner, check out the link to the group buy, we can start another group buy with minimum 15 people interested.

Those studs are prone to failure and it has happened to several people in this thread for costly breakdowns.

it may have to do with them having proof for a successful tax write off for a loss. my guess

Any of you boosted guys trim your fenders and figure out a way to protect your intake or reroute it? Trying to figure out a way to keep shit out without suffocating my engines air flow

Notice any difference? I don't know what a snorkel does besides having cleaner air and out of waters depths

cleaner air in dusty conditions too.

no difference. my air filter is a little cleaner. i had enough dust get into the air filter before the snorkel and i couldn't even build boost at one point

Some people relocate the intake to the cowl. I think there is at least one boosted member in this thread with that.

Gotcha, I was looking at that option. I guess I don't want to add a snorkel to my truck, trying to figure out a way to relocate it safely to maybe the front of the engine bay

I don't know if you're able to run the Volant intake with JUST the "Ram Air Scoop", but someone in here probably knows... https://volant.com/collections/2009.../products/closed-box-with-ram-air-scoop-38140

EDIT: You also need to deal with CARB in sandy-eggo and this one isn't approved.

@FishingInSand what intake do you have right now? Stock or aftermarket?

I have the Volant scoop in the post above. But plumbed to a non stock airbox for it to "breathe". And it looks stock and never been hassled during smog (norcal).

I have the TRD intake currently
That looks actually like a good idea, I'd have to make it a bit custom

7" lift. up high enough you miss most of it.

i really dont wheel mine so consider that. my afe intake has the grill scoup and ive always been fine. snorkels have there place but i understand they slow down boosted intake draw needs.

I did this with a carbon fiber hood for the taco. Cut it in half with a sawzall lol. Had to destroy an AEM gauge as well

I did the same no big difference but never dyno'd it yet. Im sure there is some but no issues. I have aggressive 3" trimmed vendors and no liners.
