    Look at the components they use. The tolerances are good, I can tell you that as well.

    Set a goal, and achieve it. Let budget guide you. Rods, pistons, headgaskets, and head studs, is the "basic build".

    Cams are an option, but since there are four of them versus the traditional one design it really makes the swap out much more annoying, and expensive as has been mentioned. Which is why it is not a more well known thing. There is power to be had there though. Definitely not as easy as a cam swap on a GM 350 that's for sure.

    The price alone makes most people balk. However, the owners of Tacomas generally aren't after every ounce of power. Therefore the market is extremely small. The only supplier catering to that is one is out of the UAE. Unless you deal directly with Kelford Cams to have a "custom grind" machined. Which is fairly easy.

    Why do I feel like 75% of the people who build their 1GRs end up selling their vehicles shortly after being built. Makes me wonder if it’s worth the $$ for the power, then again there isn’t many who have done it.

    It is an insurance policy. I know a few whom have built theirs, years ago, and still have them. People getting a crap shop to build their, creates a bad word of mouth.

    2.7 at the moment. I have a 2.5 on the bench, but want to check out my afrs and such before I go that far.

    Not a fan of the pulleyboys etching on the 2.7, but I'll live with it for now.
