    Is it on the intercooler inlet or outlet line? Outlet I imagine as if it was on the inlet line temps wouldnt spike much.

    Inlet I think. In between the resivoir and s/c. The hose was short so I chose that location.

    That's the outlet line. Fluid flows from pump, to sc intercooler, to reservoir, to fmic, to pump.

    That's why you saw temps rise and fall quickly because you were reading the heat removed during boost.
    If you had it in the inlet line you wouldnt see nearly as much temperature variation.

    Well, I feel dumb. Didnt think the fluid went up the intercooler. Figured the pump worked with gravity.

    Thought same till i replaced mine... so did a few others.
    Look at the pump up close with a light.... it has arrows for flow.
    It flows up into the bottom of the heat exchanger
    Then Into the intercooler
    Then into the resi, back down
    Into the pump inlet

    Pump on left isnt a white arrow, but its an arrow of raised plastic too.

    Yes all centrifugal type pumps I know of are configured this way. Even air pumps like turbos and centrifugal blowers.

    Srry i was gunna pull off my grill and get you a turn by turn video... then i realized the air dam thing i have made taking off the grill a pita without losing some spacers. Even then its hard to see the arrows on the pump when its behind the grillcraft lower.
    The diagram on my hood i figured was good nuff.

    @Torspd said the 4runner has MUCH better oem cooling setup. I think he said the sides, bottom, and top are blocked in to direct airflow thru the radiator

    I have seen that. Nice little piece and not a bad price either.
    There is a little known TSB in the "Our cooling system sucks" thread that involves some radiator support seals, radiator to skid plate seal, and an electric pusher fan for the condenser. It wont work for us though since the intercooler is in the way.

    So I’m sure we all know the pump sits smack dab in the middle/lower radiator area. I am looking to keep it in line (height-wise) but move it off to the far passenger side, making room for a winch. Anyone see any physical issues with this? I’ll adjust the tubing of course for the coolant. Just shifting the pump prob 30” off to the passenger side (five or take)

    That is correct. Diversion panels all around, to force air through a larger factory radiator.

    As long as it had sufficient airflow to keep cool I would try it.
