Going back to the topic of belts I actually have been searching high and low for the righ belt to use with my 2.3 pulley which isn't too long like the current one I have or too short as to where it'll put too much stress on the tensioner.

I ended up settling for a Gates FleetRunner 69.01" effective length belt. A 2.0 pulley would require a 68.5" effective length belt. I am also nearing 100K on the truck so I will be swapping out the serpentine belt on the engine as well. I found a direct replacement to our current belts if anyone needs to replace their engine serpentine belt.

    It is a K070835HD.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001KQJRGG/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The belt I will be using for the blower serpentine belt will require I slice a rib off the belt in order to run it without issue, but will be much better than the current stuff I am running.

I will be using a K060690HD belt. 69.01" effective length. Again, this is a custom one off application so DO NOT use this part number as a serpentine belt replacement for either your blower or engine belt. The first PN LISTED above with the link is the one you want to run for your ENGINE serpentine belt.

Ya I saw your pics. Once salt hits the roads the x will be up for the winter and I’ll start taking stuff apart and removing aluminum. Weight savings lol.

Once again it lives, I performed the tensioner shave stop mod as discovered by @Roostfactor while I had it off. New and improved AND I gained .5 lbs of boost in stepping down belt sizes. :D

    20180827_142921.jpg

EDIT: I actually just picked up .8 PSI of boost. Hit 11.5 PSI for the first time ever tonight. :D

Has anyone given you issues when you Smog this thing? I'm nervous about going below 2.8 for that reason...

    Boy I tell you Hwhut

I just smogged it actually, granted I got it done at my place of work, but things still went by well. As far as any technician knows the vehicle came like that. The only way they'll know is if they bust out calipers but in order to get an accurate reading they'll have to have the belt off anyways. THAT is NOT part of smog. It's a pure visual inspection for California on these newer vehicles.

Or move somewhere that doesn't do smog. Nothing to worry about here :luvya:

Ps I will post results for anyone that funds mods illegal in their area onto my truck.

Hmm. Wonder how much Roost's were. I have burr bits for my drill. Made in the USA. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality and performance.

I just figured they would notice the shiny metal on pulley or behind it and cry foul. I've had mixed results historically with smog and modified cars. When they give you a hard time it is a pain in ass.

tried to replace belt, but tensioner was extremely tight. Called around to a couple dealerships, and they had no idea what I was talking about..

I guess I can wait a little longer and try again. Any helpful hints?

I think mine were $20 on Amazon as well. Yes for a dremel. They work great!

Pull off tensioner, grind down the stop (the shiny part is how much I ground off). This allows you more adjustment to get the belt on.

No you need to go clockwise to release tension on the tensioner to free the belt.

The mod Roost showed you helps A BUNCH.
