I can't leave anything well enough alone
    I’m also looking for some.

I PMed the fella that said he was gauging interest and looking into making some… But he is still looking into it and hasn’t gotten any quotes or CAD drawings or anything to a machine shop yet

What are you guys looking to accomplish with the cam gears? Increased timing?

Sort of sounds like the only way to truly utilize it to the best extent is to have UCON.

Don’t want ucon and all the headaches everyone has with it. Truck runs amazing on trd tune. Just want everything I can get for it. Urd says u can’t run ucon with out cam gears. So they have to have a huge effect on the motor

They delay the exhaust valve opening and more importantly closing to help evacuate the cylinder more completely.

The cam gears retard the timing by 3 degrees

It sounds like the only thing that will allow to run them right will be UCON or OVTune.

Pretty sure they run fine with stock ecu but not certain.

    Yes. Just not optimized.

The UCON without the cam gears, is where potential engine damage can occur. As an integral component For That Tune has been taken away.

I don't believe anyone has received a custom tune since Murphinator's which I think was the basis for the handheld tune. I realize the guy is extremely busy, but at this point all we've gotten beyond the first handheld tune is a bunch of carrots on a stick. Supercharger V2 tunes were supposed to be ready at the beginning of August.

True. I had questions regarding clearing o2 codes for v2 and have yet to get an answer.

I have the custom tune software and everything ready to go, the only problem is that I don't even know how to use the stuff well enough to run a datalog. All I see are endless windows of values and thus far, the TRD tune has gotten me pretty good results.

As in they can be run with the TRD reflash? or do you mean you can go back to stock and not worry about taking them out?

I don’t understand why the NAs are so difficult. I mean they all should be a standard tuned pretty much minus the octane level.

I’m curious to see the gains on a well tuned TRD flash that’s been leaned out with mods. Obviously a pigrich TRD tune has more to gain

It's my understanding he does more than just a little timing advance.
    Adjust timing
    Adjust intake cam timing
    Adjust fuel
    Maybe adjust throttle by wire?
    This is for all parameters

    He also adjust shifting!
I dont know if he can adjust shift firmness but he does shift points and even that I'm sure is a lot of work because of all the variables that go into the shift scheduling.

Yeah the intake cam should be the most gains. Us manual shifters are all good ;)

That and I would want the ucon exhaust cam gears to go along with whatever ovtune comes up with.
