And unless the pinging is loud....I don’t know that I’ll notice it because of how loud the exhaust is..

 

I feel the same but because of the radio. My exhaust is a lot more tame than I originally thought it was going to be.. I think I need a ypipe to wake her up some more.

 

I think he is going to use my truck to get his base tune for his hand held, so if you plan on going that route you might not have to shell out extra $$ for a dyno. Dude is super busy right now too so it’s been a process for sure. Hoping he will get a day locked in soon for me. What mods do you have on your truck right now?

 

I’d suggest it. Along with a 3” exhaust mated to it.

 

Yeah. I have jba shorty headers and banks 3” catback. It doesnt get loud until about 3k rpm so its just barely louder than the stock muffler.

 

I went with DT shorties with high flow cats to the urd y-pipe to a urd mark3 exhaust. It’s loud as hell!!, love it

For the question about it showing up in the AFR. It happens only for a second or so. It doesn't really register on my widebands, but I can hear the noise under the hood. I didn't really notice it for the first few days due to the volume of my exhaust. But the other day the conditions were right and I heard it. Now that I know to listen for it, I can easily reproduce it.

Boost referencing the fuel pressure regulator doesn't matter. I tried that today to see if it would help and it offered no improvement.

Not trying to tell anyone what to do. If you like the jet out, leave it out. Mine is going back in tomorrow.

 

I have had any kind of problems after the jet removing. Just pleasure.

 

You additionally can use items like welding tips which have a larger "jet" design so vacuum input/ output is not so restricted from the brass one inside of our bypass valves.

One last thought. I am using a 2.5 pulley with the FPR mod and restrictor jet removal as well. Zero knock, just pleasure. This tells me that your tune is poor if something as small as better vacuum / boost input / output are affecting the fact that it does and does not have knock with it out.

Anything worth doing is worth way overdoing and then when it’s completed, realize that you didn’t overdo enough.
