    Shouldn't you be in 4th gear (assuming you have the 5spd auto) for the 1:1 to get the best numbers? that does seem low though for a 2.5..

    So many cars running around on the road with reliable e-fans. If "one more thing to worry about" was a real excuse, none of us would have blowers.

    Valid point sir. How does the parasitic drag of a fan and clutch compare to the load on the charging system? Is there a lighter (load) on the motor with either?

    I would assume that the case. I understand to power a fan like that it takes ponies as well. Would the e-fan be better for slow mph? I spend stupid hours crawling in traffic.

    TRD S/C, UCON, 61# inj, 2.5 pulley, 7th inj, Roostfactor Y Pipe, URD exhaust, WAT Nomad Valve body, Dana 60, DK LT, JD FAB LCA mounts, custom roof rack...and way too many others.
    That’s what I’m hoping for. Should be better for low rpm crawling and traffic. If wired to come on with the a/c, then you a/c will get cooler faster.

    E fan cools better at low engine rpm compared to a mechanical fan. I believe I read somewhere about the results of a test that proved that the extra electrical load on the alternator still caused less parasitic drag than a mechanical fan.

    Probably a better route for my needs. My truck only sees two driving styles here. Traffic crawl or haul ass.

    With my Efan my a/c SHOULD blow icicles in the summer. I used 90's Thunderbird fan.
    It was a pain to fabricate and install though. Also I have a pwm fan controller and my first fan motor died after a month or so.
    I just replaced the fan motor only for a MarkIII fan. I'll see how it lasts.
    It is a good thing I always listen for the Efan running when I shut the truck off or I wouldnt have known the fan motor failed!
    There is a lot of truth to the reliability of the the clutch fan BUT efan works better for a/c and low rpm use no doubt.
    My controller automatically adjusts fan rpm so it only runs as fast as needed to keep the engine cool and a/c trigger turns up fan speed to whatever you adjust it to.

    Yeah I'm not sure if the pwm controller burned up the first motor or not so I switched controllers from an AutocoolIII to the NB100. The NB100 has capacitors in it to smooth the power output pulses.

    This is true. The guys on Engine Masters also did a multi fan comparison. Testing the losses of each on a dyno.
