    That's a fair statement. The worse it's tuned, the worse it will run/knock/blow up etc.

    :rofl: it does, you're right. It sort of reminds me of those annoying to reassemble F-150 intakes. Then again Magnuson and Eaton are companies which mostly cater to the Domestic markets when you are talking superchargers and forced induction, so might as well continue American-izing our import trucks some more, especially if it means proper performance out of my American intake manifold.:bananadead:

    @12TRDTacoma if you are keen on making the stock box work I’ve seen a kit where it’s just better flowing pipes that utilizes the stock box. I am not sure how much it actually helps but it’s available. I’ll dig it up

    please correct me if I'm mistaken, but because the maf is on the tube so close to the engine & in the engine bay, the temp rise is unavoidable?
    I would think a 5 degree rise is acceptable?

    Very true haha. Our blowers looks sexy under the hood without looking too Chevy, or FORD-dy.

    I am not opposed to any ideas and suggestions at this point. Unfortunately I am dominated by a smog nazi state where a simple intake cannot be run legally due to the simple fact that it doesn't have a fancy EO # because the manufacturer didn't want to pay some ridiculous price and integrate some stupid post carbon filter after main design. So if there is improvements to be had with the stock design, all while looking mostly stock, hey why not.

    It is, but the least amount of heat is obviously better. With the old TCAI I never see pass +2 above ambient. Mind you the maf was sitting outside of the engine bay.

    With my current K and N, what I believe is happening is hot air from the engine seeps pass the giant cunt holes and openings all around the heat shield when sitting at idle.

    Just to be clear, TRD never approved a system for 05-11, they only got the approval for the drop in filter. However, from what you're saying, that won't exist for the 12-15 unless magnuson provided it?

    I'm running the afe dry, I definitely saw a difference over stock, I get usually 0-2 degree difference while driving & jumps to about 7 degrees at a light.

    I might go the way of electric sooner than later also. The idea of not having to remove the fan and shroud each time in order to change the belt, pulley or whatever is enticing.

    True I’ve done it without doing that, when I still had the engine driven fan. I did swear a lot though. But how would that be different from any other day I suppose.
