    Haha. In all seriousness, how do you guys get at that tensioner without taking the fan/shroud off. It’s no biggie to take them off but shortcuts ard nice!

    My dude, I get at my beef tensioner with the decreased effective working area without having to remove the fan. It is very doable.

    Then again I've been called Gumby on this thread before so I guess I make a lot of things normally not possible without removing x and y other items off, possible.

    I use a large 1/2 rachet and when that wont give me the leverage I need to finish the job I use a 1/2" non ratcheting breaker bar which is a little longer than the rachet. I usually just rest the rachet inside of my BAMF 1/4" skid plate to hold the pressure of the tensioner while I do the routing I need to do of the belt to put it back on.

    A flux retro-capacitance encabulator
    A ratcheting wrench was low-profile enough and worked for me... it's tight but maybe I have small hands or something.

    Magnuson SC, 2.5 pulley, hptuner, FPR mod, AFE Intake, URD longtube headers, JFR Y-pipe, 255 Deatschwerks, 76mm TB, Banks 3" exhaust, cam gears
    I remove the skid plate and go in from the bottom with a 1/2" ratchet. Its a tight fit and you have to have the mechanical fan in a certain position so the ratchet can clear some of the cooling fins on the fan clutch, but its doable. Then I use a pipe extension to hold the tension and remove the belt.

    This is exactly how I do mine. There is a space in between the fan clutch and I place my rachet or breaker in between those locations to provide additional slack to the tensioner to be able to slide the belt on and off.

    Harbor freight tensioner bar. I bent it slightly to fit and the fan has to be in a certain position but it makes it easy to do from the top of the engine. I'll post a pic on Monday when I get home if someone reminds me.

    Great! We have a similar place for cheap tools here.. called Princess Auto. Tools that don’t commmand any real amount of quality, that’s the place to hit.

    I use a 1/2" breaker bar, I gently slip it into the square of the tensioner, yes, I have to sometimes rotate the fan to get it in between fan blades, but once it's in, there is room to swing it to get the belt off & on.

    Yeah, I've broken three Harbor Freight specials. They tell me it's not supposed to be used as a breaker bar.....I used this gear wrench tool for the cam gear swap, it's very stout. I give it :thumbsup::thumbsup:

    Looks like I just didn’t have enough patiences, you guys all seem to be able to do it no issues!
    Good find! if I find the other methods are a bit finicky or troublesome I’ll invest into this thing.
