Just so EVERYONE knows @5thGearPinned has been nicknamed Roscoe from The Dukes of Hazzard! I gave him the name because he really sounds like Roscoe when he gets excited! Doing all the mods we did on his his truck he was excited the whole day so "Roscoe" was in full effect!
Super awesome dude for those that are fortunate enough to meet him.

    Love you Roscoe!

I wish I could of been down there with y’all drinking, modding, and waking up early to keep modding! Those are killer matched and flowed parts, that will be some nice smooth gains. Beautifully done. Thanks for the awesome compliments Roost, same goes for you too!

@Roostfactor @Torspd I am eager to take the blower back off and really dig into this thing further. As far as the SC intake plenum goes I believe it is maxed out, it is fully ported to port match the 76mm TB adapter. The intake ports going into the runners doesn’t have a lot of meat to remove (2mm or so max) as each port opening are only mms next to each other. However it is opened up somewhat and any edges and ledges are cleaned up.
Most porting jobs are accomplished by porting the output opening on the underside of the unit to allow better flow to the engine and thereby also resulting in less production of heat being produced from less air restriction. Because our units is a side output designed there doesn’t look to be anyway to improve that output opening.

My question, how would steigmier or any other porting services improve our blowers if there simply is not significant enough material to remove.. as far as I can see. If there factually is, please enlighten me, as I would love to be wrong and improve on it.
Torspd I know that you mentioned, a member on XRU I (forgot his handle name) did the snake bite mod and ended up porting the crap out of the lower plenum. I would like to know where it was ported so I could either do the same or get steigmier to perform the work if their expertise is necessary. Btw I emailed them twice and no answer.

I’m not sure this one is going to net anything out, but I’ve been needing to get a new intercooler reservoir lid or complete unit. I’ve had many leaks from the lid and few from the overflow cap. Magnuson is constantly out of stock. The Fig unit obviously nice, but costs an arm, leg, and first born. In scouting the inter webs I’ve tried to find an option that was designed for another vehicle, but might fit our platform. I hadn’t found anything that was standing out, so I started CADing one out so I could fab one from scratch. After locating a spot in the engine compartment, I had determined the unit should be approximately 8” long, 4” wide, and 4-6” tall.

Then out of the blue, I came across this $15 universal aluminum tank. It’s very close dimensionally. I made a corrugate template and I think it’s going to work out. I’d weld in a 3/4” hose adapter at the rear, facing the engine, and a 3/4” adapter in the front facing the front. Those locations are literally inline with factory hose locations, although the return hose from the engine will need to be extended. This tank should be about 4-1/2 times the volume of the stock tanks. It also frees up space for my Shrockworks relay mounting bracket and home assembled Bussman relay boxes. I’ll report back when the tank arrives to see if it works.... or not.

Looks like you would have to tap or weld the input and output hose nipples on it. What is the capacity?

Has anyone in here upgraded or increased the size of the s/c intercooler? I know i have seen the resivoir capacity increased, as well as bigger radiators (which have obvious benefits) but would there be any benefit to increasing the size of the intercooler itself or does the stock one do a good enough job to leave it alone? Not planning on doing this anytime soon, just having a few beers and it got me thinking about how ive never seen this done... thoughts?

it’s pretty much already the maximum size that would fit in there L, H and almost W. I’m sure there is a more efficient core out there but to get the exact size made might be be a struggle.

I was kinda expecting it to be like all the other mods, figured it would take some work. Mainly curious if there would be any benefits that could be had from doing it. If so, may add it to my never ending list of "things i need" for the blower lol:D

Yes. It was beyond help. Pretty sure the connector was some how damaged/jammed/defective.

It would, but in hand with a better/bigger heat exchanger.

That's fair. I was going to give you shit but that is a good point about it potentially being damaged somehow. I could see them eventually seizing in place for one reason or another the more I think about it. Lol.
