TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I'm bugging him about blower tunes don't you worry.

 

I still think he could drop us a line. I hadn’t even heard of OVTune until recently.

 

He’s tinkering with the TRD calibrations as well.

I want it to work well. Plugs into OBD2 port?

 

Yes. It’s still all very new for our trucks. But, he’s done lots of other vehicles. Toyotas as well as other makes.

 

He should have plenty of info soon. He is borrowing my truck for the day on the 6th for some dyno fun time

 

Cool. I am eager to see how well it works. A couple guys already have the tuners. But, I have yet to see a report on the results. Like I said before, he’s just beginning on the 1gr stuff.

 

This handheld should actually work as advertised, assuming proper adjustments are done. The actual manufacture of the chipset in the ECU recently released all the info to "unlock" it, so you can actually adjust the maps, instead of Hodge podging it like the shittydog tuner does.

I bet they will both “work” I have no emailed gadget twice, I guess when I install my injectors whenever they get here, Ill pull all my plugs that Ive had for maybe 800 miles and see how they look. Thats the only advice scott could give me to track down P219A

 

I guess I meant to say I’d like to get one of these and have it operate as it should and not give me other unforeseen problems.

 

Get the plug and play OVtune, nice and conservative. Or go down the rabbit hole

 

Do the rabbit hole. Its more fun. Sometimes fun is annoying. But worth the end result

But believe me. I am excited to just run it in general! I have to perform a Secondary Air Injection system block off and bypass when I get to doing all this though. It can be done within the OVTune though. Not the physical bypass, but the disable for sure.

 

Any ovtune update for you?

ovt sounds like a decent setup. i wanna learn how to tune but theres a lot coming on and i dont wanna mess it up.
like that you can get a simple version of it tho
