    I opted for the K&N because I needed that extra flow.

    And because it was the only replacement filter readily available.

    I think Gadget can be just a bit bipolar. I’ve spoken with him on a few occasions on the phone. It just depends on what day you call, which Gadget answers. Sometimes he’s a chatter box and other times he’s short and abrupt.

    It is what it is. At this point, he doesn’t really have any more products I need so..

    Just got my dad’s truck back today. They flashed the trd tune again. The technicians were very confused as to how the truck was running this long not on a trd calibration. But it is there now, and my ovtune handheld was able to read the stock ecu this time!

    Huh ? So it was running on N/A calibration this whole time ? Does he have gauges ?

    Just an ultragauge. I think it had the trd tune the calibration just didn’t change some how. We will see, he said it seems to run better but he couldn’t really tell because the roads are so wet its just spinning the tires.

    Ive pestered Gadget a bit on XRU about that. He has said he would do a kit for the Taco, but I put that one in the OVTune for 2nd gen category. Sure it might happen, but don’t be in any hurry for it! :tumbleweed:

    I wanted to but it just didn’t work out that way sadly. We will see how calibrated the butt dyno is tomorrow and see if there is any major differences.

    I still say there was no way that truck was running without the TRD flash....had to been a hiccup in the handheld or ecu.....

    Well it couldn’t have been the handheld because techstream allowed the ecu to be flashed (again?)
    I agree it had to be a fluke with the ecu when it was originally flashed. Somehow it did not change the calibration id to the trd tune.

    I have a stock unused AC delco tensioner and just received the Roush tensioner today. I dont know what our stock tensioner measures as far as spring rate but the delco measured 50ft lbs and the Roush 80. This was just with a breakaway torque wrench set to break away right when the tensioner reached the stop.
    I did cycle the torque wrench and each tensioner through full range of travel numerous times prior to testing.
    Yes the Roush has a significantly stiffer spring.
    BUT, mine looks the same as yours Jackson as far as the shaft height. I dont like it but I'm sure it would be fine as is because the flanged head bolt keeps the other side of the bearing centered. I will most likely use washers or a shim though to make the effective length of the shaft longer and alleviate some of the load on the bolt.
