WS fluid. Looks nice. Mine looked about the same at 60K miles until I did a flush. 20K later and it was warmish looking again. I'm confident the decrease in clutch slippage will now allow the fluid to remain cleaner.

Go Valvoline Max life. It's way better than Toyota's WS garbage.

If I remember correctly, WS is not as capable to holding up to heat before viscosity breakdown in comparison to Max Life's durability.

Something like that, been a long time since I delved into that rabbit hole.

Bear in mind you lost just about all of your tranny fluid when you removed your valve body by the way. You will be putting back some 9- 9.5 quarts.

 

Indeed. I rocked the truck to get as much as possible out, and when I was undoing the last bolt on the valve body, alot came out. Being covered in atf is a fun time

Just remember. No matter which brand you use, none will work well if the system isn't properly filled.

Don't worry about that just yet. Fill it to 9.5 quarts. Drive it about 50 miles, not horribly hard, and then check the fill plug which is right next to the drain plug on the pan which you originally pulled the other drain plug from. If you have excess it will come out.

I checked mine once it was all up to temperature with the truck in neutral.

My pulley? $50. Lol. Pulleyboys was talking about some $800 to make it since it was supposed to be a one off.

$50 is sweet.... @loginfailed needs a 2.3 after his new transmission gets installed.

 

I don't even want to think about the engraving fiasco, and ultimately major let down they were for me. At least my stuff was blank when I ordered mine, so that's always a plus.

He did the vb, made it a 4 speed auto. Then ordered a tranny from a wrecker with 26k on it and sent it to ipt for a full build

 

Pretty sure the Landcruiser uses the same transmission. It has a pan with a dip stick. You guys just need to do a little verification.
