    Yeah that's pretty bad when a sales guy is low key like (whispering)"Don't buy this shit". I've had one used car salesman like that before who straight up told me to go to a different dealership because of how shitty his used cars were lol.

    It's not the first time I have heard someone being talked out of Ceramic bearings as well.

    Perhaps something having to do with poor longevity in comparison to standard design bearings.

    Jesus Christ, how shitty are the brake lines on these trucks. the hard line off one of my calipers just snapped off just from tension from the soft line! I was tying it up so it wouldn't drop and hang from the soft line and I guess the steel braided soft line put some tension on the line and it just snapped. Guess i'm bending up ANOTHER line. *flips table*

    Seriously. I'm just gonna go back to nappa and buy enough to replace all the lines at the suspension. what's ridiculous is the fronts should be completely fine, I NEVER bend those or fuck with them and have always been careful to not let the calipers hang from the lines (IE always tied up when removed). So the fact that some very light tension from a "soft" line caused it to snap off tells me the lines are just shit chinese metal that just corrodes over time until it finally breaks. Especially since I keep the hard lines bolted up to the spindle so there's not even any tension on them.

    I didn't leave the conversation with a clear understanding of why, just got the direct impression that this wasn't an application that they endorsed. I described the application, stated the rpm's would be approaching 20,000, and said that I got 10 years out of the factory bearings. He first thought I was talking about the internal bearings that may have a thrust component to the loading that would need to be considered. When I clarified that these were specifically external idlers that his bearings had a corresponding part number for, he turned to the performance aspect. He inquired if I was looking for go faster parts and I reinforced my main interest was in the longevity of the components. He recalled that I got 10 years out of the factory set and would recommend that I go that direction. I appreciated his candor. Not saying they won't work, or someone shouldn't buy them, but I'll probably investigate another route. @TRON says he's been running them for 5(?) years or so and hasn't reported any problems, so it's not like they won't work. However $400 bucks on replacement bearings is quite spendy. I'm still licking my wounds from the new engine and custom radiator. That stung a bit.

    FIGS products are great. Pricey. But sure beats the competitor for my specific car. I’ve got a bunch of their items on my Lexus ranging from bushings, camber and toe links, and even a battery tie down.
