Did that with brake cleaner and then starting fluid and nothing changed. Thanks for the input though!

Yes, it was about a week old when I installed it,I was a big fan for years, had k&n filters in most of my vehicles since the early 80's, it was a thing to have a reusable filter.

I mean they still are, technology has been ever-changing and updated since those years though and in place where quad barrel carburetors were the hottest thing to hit the streets now it's all about computer controlled fuel injected/ direct injected vehicles making the same amount of power in a smaller package utilizing twin screw and whipple blowers/ turbos etc. Crazy how much things change. Before oiled filters were no big deal because there was nothing ahead of it on the air intake ducting. Now you got those pesky Mass Airflow Meters.

Damn CARB. They are a thorn in my side. Lol.

You mention having a full set of 23250-YWG01 injectors laying around. What injectors are installed currently?

I dunno what mileage you’re at, but, most of what you’ve described could be attributed to the fuel pump laying down in ya.

FPR should be connected to the intake before (upstream of) the throttle body. So, it should be seeing clean, atmospheric pressure air.

I have the same ones installed. I just picked up a box of S/C take off stuff (thinking someday I may want it) from a race shop for $20 and it had a complete set, NIB! This way, when I do pull the blower, I won't have to wait a few days to get them flow tested only to find out I need a new set. :) I will probably get the others flow tested to ensure I can do another swap out when and if I go through this again.

I have about 120,000 miles. My apologies for not going back and reading the 50 plus pages but is this the pump that you and @12TRDTacoma would recommend me running? As I have mentioned, I'm not looking to squeeze out HP, I am more interested in reliability. :)
    https://www.summitracing.com/parts/avm-50-1200?seid=srese1

I need to pull the tank anyway just to at the very least check that off my list of potential causes.

Regarding the FPR, if it should see 'clean atmospheric,' I should really run a small crankcase vent filter. Otherwise, anything in the airbox to just prior to the 'screws' will be lower than atmospheric due to the velocity of the air. What is the deal where guys are running a hose from FPR to the plenum tap?

    Thanks again.

Explain the crankcase breather part you are speaking about? I have run them before but I never saw much benefit other than extra stench of oil fumes. Not to mention it would induce an unmetered air leak since the system is technically no longer sealed.

Yes the AEM 50-1200 fuel pump. One awesome piece of hardware that has stood the test of time with myself. No hiccups, no issues.

    Congrats on that $20 score!

FPR mod creates a 1:1 ratio boost reference to the fuel system. If you push out 10 psi boost, your fuel system will rise from 41.7 to 51.7 psi... and so on so forth. It's a great way to ensure that the fuel system is never lacking in fuel delivery when in boost.

That's not its only purpose. As boost pressure builds in the intake runners, it pushes against the injectors and the fuel coming out if them reducing their fuel pressure at the outlets. To compensate for that pressure against thee injectors and loss of fuel pressure, a 1:1 fuel pressure increase equalizes the fuel pressure against the boost air. Maintaining it at the steady 43.5 psi.

Without the vac/boost reference, you just lose fuel pressure. Add more boost, and you lower it more.

The other side of the “FPR mod” is that under vacuum, the fuel pressure will reduce. In my case, to the point that the ecu fuel trims could not compensate and it threw a MIL. I forget the code exactly. But, the FPR seeing boost/vac is not the way this setup should be run. At least not with the TRD tune anyway.

As for the breather idea. Yeah, I like it. I remember seeing some tiny vacuum filters on some of the older cars. I’m gonna try getting ahold of one of those and experimenting with just slipping it onto the FPR. I doubt there’ll be any perceivable difference though. I surmise it will only be the difference between normal atmospheric and whatever the pressure drop is between the air filter and the throttle body. Which should be negligible.

There are many pumps that can be run in there. Virtually all will be an upgrade over the stock one. You’re not really adding any power by doing the pump. You are however making sure fuel supply won’t be an issue in the future as well as adding a serviceable filter to the system. Sounds like exactly what you’re looking for.

I was responding to @BillDaCat8's comment "FPR should be connected to the intake before (upstream of) the throttle body. So, it should be seeing clean, atmospheric pressure air. "

I wasn't suggesting to vent the crankcase - I was just saying if the FPR was to be connected so that it sees "clean, atmospheric pressure," this would be the way to see that. Otherwise, the FPR would see less than atmospheric.
    Thanks!

    Pleasant surprise. :)

... but from what I understand, not for my TRD tune. Right? BTW, mine was tuned with my truck parked up against the glass at the TRD headquarters in Torrance. Paybacks for helping with their race program. :)
Not quite sure what you are saying when you say, 'pushes against the injectors.'
It would be interesting to know. Years ago, I was a Test Driver and Test Tech for GM Desert Proving Grounds. We used to put 100-200-200+ test probes all over a car when testing. It was pretty cool to see the data when you wanted to see what was really happening. I think of this every time a SEMA company says, "Meets or exceeds OEM specs!" They would have never released them!!! lol
    Thanks

I haven't had time to even play with it. This thing is a self tuner not the tune in a can model, so I have to run the thing in order to get any sort of data to be able to modify. All I have right now in hand is the TRD tune base maps.

I passed inspection! I’m pretty excited. Maybe long tubes and the simulator would fly. Two cats down, two to go.

There’s def more to it than just swap. Not overly difficult, just tedious. Does it come with a kit with extra tubing, clamps, wires, etc?

I dropped my fuel tank, others lifted the bed. Lifting is probably easier, but I had access to a lift and xmsn jack along with another set of hands. Took about 4.5 hours for first time doing it. I think now I could it done in about 2.5-3. Make sure you clean the lock ring and cap real well so dirt and debris doesn’t fall in the tank. My build thread has some pics I think around pg 26-28.
