Will freezing them work as well?

I think I have a tap and die set...

 

I’m not sure if there’s an issue on the newer models. I followed @Torspd ’s (I think) write up that talked about the first couple of model years needed the threads tapped because the tolerances were super tight. Seemed like he thought the tolerances went up slightly with later models. I don’t think freezing them will result in too much of a dimensional change, but it can’t hurt. You might not have any issues anyways.

 

It's a common practice on the aviation side of things, especially when close tolerances are involved.

Now I'm just trying to research if I need longer studs on the top, do to the air pump ('15).

 

I’ve read a few posts on them, but haven’t had to deal with them. Maybe someone else can comment on them. Can’t remember what the it thing was to do

 

Anybody on here supercharged with a plate bumper and winch? I just pulled my bumper as I get ready to install the supercharger, but it doesn’t look like there is enough room for the pump to mount up front and will interfere with the winch spool. Has anybody experienced this or moved there pump?

You can move the pump no problem. Just make sure wherever you mount it is still the lowest point in the system and that you connect the lines to the correct pump ports.

 

I may make a trip down. I know some other guys going out there I wanna meet too. Seems like it would be a fun time.

Sure am!!! Right down to Houston then to the parking lot.

 

Yes. I flipped the mounting clamp for the pump upside down and it left the pump in the perfect spot to clear the winch. You’ll need a longer M6 bolt and a spacer so the pump will clear the hood support.

I’m going to have to sit this one out. It falls on a work weekend and then I’m headed out of town the following week.

 

I moved mine a little due to the winch.
