How much hp would I gain with no thermostat?

 

I was kidding. A lower t-stat just keeps temps down in hot weather and when high demand on the engine.

 

I guess that would explain why my car stays relatively cool. I think I might even downsize my oil coolers to small 7 row coolers.

 

In a warm climate like yours you should be fine. It's a bit cooler here. This morning was low 50's. Still nice boost weather.

 

Think I can get away with Earls 7 row narrow coolers? They’re only like 4” x 2” core. Tiny. But at the rate my coolant temp dropped I think it’ll be fine.




Also in Lexus related news, I’m trying to figure out just how badly I want this rare sway bar set. It’s used and for sale on yahoo japan auctions. I can set an automatic bid that gets placed right before the auction ends, but the question is how much do I want to pay to ensure I win?

Now you guys might be wondering what the big deal is. Well, I’ve only ever seen 3 different sway bar sets for sale. 1 each. Never again. I do think they’ll help me quite a bit. Assumed to be solid bars. 30mm/20mm over my stock 27mm/13mm.

 

Suspension upgrades are very underrated.

 

I have a lot into it. Coilovers that I think I under sprung a bit, bushings, braces, arms, links, etc.

I still think the front rolls a bit too much.

 

I agree with @Athlaos . I'm in the process of dropping serious coin for my rear suspension. Buy once, cry once. But like any mod that supports all the rest, it's worth it.

 

Whatcha going with for the rear?

 

A little off topic, but nevertheless, like you were saying about suspension mods and how it compliments the rest, that's sort of like sound mods. I have grown dissatisfied with the usual subwoofer selection flavors available, especially in the 8" variety, so I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get this massive high powered subwoofer setup from Memphis Audio with a custom subwoofer box. It's like you said, buy once cry once. If I'm going to race around then I have to do it with my tunes nomsayin'?
