TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I talked to murph. I’m gonna wait a little bit to see how others with the s/c and TRD reflash do with theirs before I take the plunge.

I dont think I can on account of the cam gears. I still have my trd flashed ecu and a non flashed which is currently installed. I have the 2.5 pulley, intake, headers etc full bolt ons

 

You can run a TRD reflash on the cam gears no problems. What you can’t do is run a ucon or aprx1 without them

 

Well.... how does yours run with em?

Edit: what about the larger injectors?

 

They run just fine You would need to be careful about going lean with a 2.5 pulley though.

 

Well I guess we will see what ovtune can do with bigger injectors but I’ll probably stay ucon

 

I posted in the OV thread but I'm pretty happy with OV so far. Waiting on an E85 tune now.

 

Yeah the TRD reflash would only run well with the 455s. You definitely need an aftermarket ecu to run the 668s.

I’ve been running TRD reflash with cam gears 4/5 years now and no problems no CELs.

 

Dam afr sensor is out again....I’ll get the one recommended on page one this time around.

 

Mine too, its been 2 months and 1 of those it didn’t even get driven

Dam did you pay 200 smackers for that thing. This will be my third one. I wanna say the oem one it comes with was like 50 bucks or so.

 

I did. I custom ordered the gauges from Speedhut and they recommended that controller. Now, it will do a bunch more stuff (data logging connection) that I'm not using so maybe I bought more than I needed but it's the first and only afr controller I've ever purchased. Need some Holley parts? I have those.

Lol. I still have Weber power plates that replace the meter blocks on a 600 cfm vac secondary carb. Some old rebuild kits. Assortment of power valves. Jets in various sizes. Why do I have this? Hoarder.
