TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I don't take that info as gospel honestly. Take that info with a grain of salt. There are too many other factors and besides. That may be the intial intake reading, but what about all of the parasitic loss through the drivetrain?

 

If the parasitic loss is 18% wouldn't grams per second roughly be your rwhp#?

 

Figure anywhere from 10-15%

GM/s would be considered base horsepower (roughly) but like I said, there are just too many other variables to quantify that number to be totally accurate. If you want a solid output reading at the wheels you gotta dyno it, and even then, that is just a close number to what you are really making. There are other variables introduced there as well to be able to like, "oh okay, I'm making xxx horsepower, no doubt about it, 100%".

 

Correct. I follow you. Lots of factors. Shit, weather probably changes #s 20-40hp. My butt dynometer says so. Why I like the cold months up here some ways. Truck runs much more spunky than the hot months.

Oh yeah, I absolutely agree. Heat and cold is a major factor when you are talking about horsepower production. Heatsoak is the enemy but in that same respect the engine needs to be a certain temperature to operate efficiently. It's a balancing act.
