    We are already configured and set up to run a Supercharger so in reality it would cost more at this junction to switch out to a turbo.

    TRD S/C, UCON, 61# inj, 2.5 pulley, 7th inj, Roostfactor Y Pipe, URD exhaust, WAT Nomad Valve body, Dana 60, DK LT, JD FAB LCA mounts, custom roof rack...and way too many others.
    Yes, more than a TRD supercharger. However, there are other considerations with the Rotrex. It doesn't have as much low end torque and the reliability is not the same as the TRD unit.

    Aren’t we, and by we I mean some of you, already pushing the max boost these engines can take without needing internal upgrades out of the trd unit? If so, obviously you can upgrade internals and do a custom whopper setup, but then how far can you go? 500whp before you’re making something else out?

    Just some genuine curiosity as one day I’d like to be making over 500 reliable whp. Always thought it would be by doing a 5.7 tundra swap with the sc as I don’t want to be like everyone else doing an ls. But depending on cost and power output, a full 1grfe build may be cheaper than the tundra swap. Then again I want to swap tundra front and rear axles/ diff one day to the taco so may just buy a totaled one and scavenge what I can

Even then I doubt I'll be at 500hp but I should be close(r). @Torspd has done just about everything to his motor and put down some serious numbers.

    My shit is all stock.
    These are still trucks. Trucks tow stuff. Trucks pull heavy loads up big hills for hours on end.

    I don't dislike turbos. Every other car I have is turbocharged. Turbos make power, sure enough. They also liquify exhaust valves (and more) when used for heavy load towing. There's a reason Toyota/TRD chose a supercharger for the Tacoma and the Tundra.

    To be honest here, I haven't spent much so far. The Qwickchange, the belts and the tensioner... Can't think of anything else other tha the maintenance which had the coupler.

    Oh yeah, the recent cam gears thing.. there was that.

    I'm happy for the 3rd gen guys. I'd never have touched that 3.5 without some kind of boost in it.
    Just wonder how the schizophrenic trans will hold up with that kind of hp and all the TSBs it's needed.
    I also question if the TT setup can be mass produced with reliability and decent support. Time will tell.
    Who knows the competition might require us to step up our game.

    What is the 3.5 related to? RR Racing has a supercharger for the Lexus 350’s that makes something like 450 whp if you want to gauge strength of internals
