Goal wise it changes too much but a semi go fast, go anywhere truck with more power! Had the SC on my wish list forever.. Its built up almost as far as I can go Mid Travel suspension wise. Needs more clearance and more power but its a learning lesson for sure.

I am debating maybe going 2.7 or 2.8 pulley. I ordered the 2.5 but seems like its going to need some more work to run well. Unless I read that wrong through the threads. Pulley was supposed to arrive today but they wanted a signature so didnt drop it off.

    my goal is too much
you have similar goals like mine. go 2.7 if you want a start. go 2.5 if you want real fun. my motto is excessive is a great starting point. disregard all my advice if you want balance. I'm on a mission for a scary fast lifted Tacoma. I love mine but more always happens.

Whats everyones take on going with 2.5 vs say 2.7 vs 2.8. Besides needing some HPT love anything else a must have off the back? Shorter belts with the tensioner and smaller pulley. Do I need a new fuel pump right away? Also I am waiting for the ratiotek but is it required right away? Sounds like at some point for sure but looking at what I can get done with limited time at SC install time.

    Ha! I have 315’s and 4:88’s but I wish I went with 4:56’s.

I’m breaking in 4.56s with 34” tires right now. Seems like it’s about the perfect match for my auto, I’m turning about 2300 rpm at 65 mph, I haven’t exceeded that because of the break in. I will say it’s been hot here lately, around 100f, and at cruise at 65 mph I’m around 195f with the 170f thermostat. I’m happy with that after last year before the CSF radiator and thermostat when I’d push 210f under the same conditions, or worse.

ha yah I tend to go all in or if I am on one track ill see it through. Thats what I did with the MT setup instead of redoing it all with LT at least in the front. I want to beat the hell out of that first and see if I even need it. goal would be 350-400hp this thing would be super fun.

285/75r17. Just barely a 34" tire, not as wide as 295 tho. I rub enough as it is, cannot imagine going wider.

Also I will say, anyone looking for the rear end to ride better, these archive garage hammer hangers has completely changed the way my truck handles now. It is an absolute monster now, I am still shocked at the difference every time I drive it.

MT or AT? do not recall if the FJ's had MT or not or could be different but on the AT the 4.88 for sure. At the time I did not know when I would go 315 or 35 but I should have known better.

nice I was debating on that or the BAMF setup. did you add the cross bar too? I may go back down to 285/75/17 next time around or 295 if they have it in a 75.

Mine is an A/T but they made many manuals as well. It’ll be interesting to see how you like it with the S/C. Aside from freeway rpms being higher than I’d like, this thing does shit and get.

If I didn’t spend a small fortune to have Zuk do a super sweet gear setup, I’d offer a trade...

Nice, I def like that part of it. I had AG on my list until BAMF came out with theirs being local to me but may revisit the archive.

I considered both options carefully, but ended up with the AG kit. It's more $$ but it was money well spent in my opinion.

Sorry for the excessive posts on cooling recently but here’s a conundrum for you guys.

60 mph cruising in 80-90 degree weather I am hitting about 194 degrees top temperature. One would assume that at this speed the fan isn’t doing much and it is mainly the air flow from speed hitting the radiator and doing the cooling.

However, if I smash the gas pedal and really pin it, (thus spinning the fan faster) I can get my temps to drop to about 188 pretty quick. Once I let off the gas and return to cruising speed the temps will slowly creep back to 192-194.

My theory is that due to the excessive crap in front of my radiator (intercooler, condenser, trans cooler, light bars, bumper, skid plate, etc. I don’t get the cooling you would expect from natural air flow at high speeds. I really need that fan pulling air through the small gaps and forcing it over the radiator. Thoughts?

Retard gears are in, truck is back together. Gonna let it sit overnight to let the RTV set up. My spark plugs were beyond toast. Like I don’t know how my truck was running toast. :puke:

Looking forward to how that poly coupler feels....
