TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Ahh maybe I misunderstood page 1. Is the ideal plan to do the mods in the order listed. That sounds like a good path to follow.

Also I figured 400 was reasonable and 500 would be the deal with the devil. Ohh god what can of worms am I opening.

Tundra 5.7 swap with the s/c and then some mods as well for your 500hp

 

But seriously, you've come at a great time. Lots of good mods available and custom tuning now. Just depends on how much you want to spend. This thread has been an evolution of great mods and ideas. Lots of awesome people here. Unlike those 3rd gen threads

In the real world is 400HP more than $3,000 to achieve?

 

What state do you live in? Have any vehicle emissions inspections?

 

Probably closer to $4000 to $5000
Just spit balling here but intake, headers, and full exhaust will cost you around $2000 for a basic setup. Then hptuners will cost you $500 to tune it just to let the air flow. Then you can pump up the boost with a smaller pulley and the necessary fuel mods to get 400 hp at the crank

This is also assuming you're doing all the install labor yourself

 

So I know a few here went to 3" exhaust... what are the pros over the TRD cat back I currently have? I have URD equal headers, ordering @Roostfactor y-pipe, then the TRD cat back... should I scrap that and get 3"?

Edit - I also have a resonator after the y-pipe

 

In reality you probably don’t need a 3” at our power levels. But it wouldn’t hurt.

 

URD does make a pretty nice looking 3" CAT back.....

Unfortunately, that is not possible with the roots blower. Not enough volume. Even with the smallest pulley. To reach 500. Nitrous Oxide, or would be able to push it to or past, bit the engine in stock form won't handle the amount of nitrous to get it there. Nor would the engine be strong enough to last any substantial time at that power level.

A single/twin turbo kit, a larger liter twin-screw s/c, or a large rotrex, plus new rods and pistons, are what is needed to get there to 500 whp.

The members whom have recently purchased the Kelford Camshafts are going to be the ones that are closest or surpass 400 whp. As they also have the other proper supporting mods.
