    Pulley wrap info:
The timing belt kit is cheaper than a single pulley. Rock Auto is cheapest I found. Dayco 84041. I used the one with the bracket so I could adjust it since it has a slit in it. I trimmed the bracket down to essentially remove it. The bracket side will face toward the front of the truck.
I used 4 washers on the back side of the pulley to space it away from the sc and 1/8 x 1" stainless bar stock[IMG][IMG][IMG]for the new bracket. You have to have the bracket overhang on the drivers side about 1/2"so the spacer washers have a nice flat surface to mate against. Then you just need one washerfor the front of the pulley and longer bolts to replace the stock ones.20180225_173422.jpg

Attempted to take the by pass hose off to inspect and potentially remove the restricter jet. However that hose is on tight! Whats a good method to getting the hose off?

Spray a little wd40 on it and use an angled pick tool to get between the hose and the nipple. Don’t pull excessively hard on it because I think the nipple is plastic. Haven’t heard of anyone breaking it off but that would suck to break it off!

So, did anyone have odd issues with cranking that seemed to be battery related after the S/C was installed?

I am tracking the delay in start due to the fuel/compression building which delays like 1-2 seconds. My issue is a different one (trying to figure out if it even is an issue). The truck just seems to take a good bit of “effort” to turn over; not normal or pre-S/C.

Also, tried to contact gadget via phone and email this week and have yet to hear back from him. I need Scott’s info to pull data logs and all that to see what needs to be changed if anything. Kinda annoyed. Can anyone help?

Thats most likey the ucon syncing up as you may have heard.

I developed this issue and it was 100% my broken fuel pump hose to blame

Do you remember how long this “sync” process could take? (I also get one quick flash of the CEL but it goes out as soon as the other dash lights go out when started. I just find it odd that it does a real quick flash and that’s it. The UCON won’t “mask” any CEL’s will it? I’d hate for the truck to try and tell me something is wrong but the UCON won’t let it??? Not sure if that’s even possible??)

I find it a little less likely to be fuel pump related for me just due to I’ve had the pump installed since January with zero issues and this start thing only started since the install of the S/C.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I believe your issue is related to the UCON. I ran mine prior to installing S/C and had the issue before and after. Upgrading the fuel pump appears to satisfy the code. Possibly due to the ability to maintain a higher fuel pressure, or is can simply ramp up faster to develop the pressure on startup.

-Whoops, didn't realize you had the upgraded fuel pump already. Still, maybe the UCON needs time to learn...

Gotcha. That’s one of the few things I wanted to hit Scott up about. I’m new to this wizardry of hooking up a laptop to a vehicle to see what’s going on; that parts gonna be a learning curve for me. However, if you guys are familiar with there being a “learning” period for the UCON, I can buy that for a dollar.

The quick cel is telling you which tune is loaded in the UCON.
    1 Flash is s1 tune....stock exhaust manifolds
2 is s2.......................headers without front cats
    3 is s3.......................7th injector support
S1 is for factory exhaust manifolds. Milder tune to prevent the cats from burning up. You don't need to datalog or do anything with Gadget or Scott as long as it's running fine. The UCON self adjusts like the stock ecu.
If you go with headers then you want to change to s2 tune, this is when you will need Scott to remote in to your laptop while connected to the UCON to reflash the UCON to S2 tune. S2 tune has more timing and more aggressive tune.
Truck will take slightly longer to start but won't be slower to crank. Check your voltage at the battery with a multimeter while cranking, it should stay close to 12v. If it drops lower then battery is tired.

How's it running though? You happy?

Delayed start definitely the Ucon especially cold starts... Get use to that. I’m curious if all aftermarket piggybacks have a delay to sync

True but slow to crank over is not UCON related.

Thank you for taking the time to explain all that! Now that you say it all, I remember someone else getting that same explanation awhile ago.

The other morning, it was 25* here and I had to jump the truck with my wife’s Acadia. It just so happened to be 2 days after the install. I wasn’t sure what to tie it to. I do know that my truck was sitting for a little bit (only driven once every 2 weeks while I was deployed for 8 months but I got back in Nov). I think the 4-5 yr old battery just got weak enough and that cold night killed it (it ran the rest of the day though). That night I just decided to start fresh and got a new, colder cranking battery and havnt had to jump it but it still went a little slow to turn over which is what was giving me concern. For now I guess I’ll stick with the ucon learning explanation. The only CEL is the S1 tune that flashes early on. Runs great, not odd sounds or pinging. No CELs (knock on wood). No sputtering under acceleration. Very happy with the S/C and UCON thus far. I would like to know how to use my laptop to pull info from the UCON though.

I will admit I have not done any crazy long term or even “stomping” it bc I don’t have the boost or afr wired yet but that should come this weekend.

I am just so amazed at how hard the truck continuously pulls during some “deliberate” acceleration trials. Puts a huge grin on my face haha. I guess I’m just a little worried the trouble will soon come like most everyone else had. BUT so far, I freaking love it

Yes you’re right... Usually slow crank is weak battery

Awesome @Skootter14 glad the truck is running good. You would know if it wasn’t. AFR gauge is cheap insurance knowing the engine is not going too lean or rich. I always got my mods one at a time... Can’t imagine getting SC and Ucon at the same time
