I have my sc pump relay next to the battery. small gauge lamp cord and t-taps. just trace the wires up from the pump to the engine bay. if you choose the cubby to the right of the steering wheel just pop it off to check for clearance. make sure you can see it from a comfortable driver's position.

That tells you you have power, but does it tell you the pump is running and you have flow?

Yep, bigger reservoir in the engine bay is just more hot coolant to feed through the system. Likely it would actually raise the overall average temp of the intercooler coolant circuit.

I recently went through this whole thought process myself.

I don’t have anything to tow so it was a lot easier to come back to my senses. Also as much as I’d like to start fresh with a new truck to build on, I’d rather not sink so much money into mods again.

if you put a bright enough led in the very back it would also aide in grappling that piece when dark out. safety 1st.

Finally wrapped up my header install last night. These things either leak like crazy or they amplify the sound of the valves significantly.

Press on the gas and get the truck under load and...pftt tt ttt ttt ttt ttt ttt tt ttt ttt ttt ttt ttt

Significant power increase though according to the butt dyno. Pulls better from the get go and then really takes off around 2800 rpm.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I have really bad valve clatter. I don’t have my headers on yet though. I will look to adjust them when I put my exhaust cam gears on.

I could faintly hear the sound I am hearing now with stock manifolds. Now it is very noticeable if I have the windows down and stomp on it.

Inspect it after another day or so. Check for exhaust soot.

if you're running the sai still know this. I misaligned a washer in the cross pipe. didn't know until it was (serviced) the weird noise I heard went away.

Ah, yeah I definitely didn’t pay attention to the orientation of that washer/gasket. I will tinker with it moving forward

    Goode idea!

Since you're going back in, maybe some block off plates will help free up some space in the engine bay. I think I still have a spare set I can send you (originally made by @Roostfactor ), if you want to pursue SAI delete. I will look through my Tacoma parts pile this weekend.

I thought about getting them before but had my reservations about trying to flash with the hptuners module. With all the issues people have had recently over there bricking ECUs I don’t think I even wanna bother. And without the hptuners I will just end up with a CEL all the time without the SAI installed.

Understand the reservations. I’ve flashed mine probably close to 50 times with no issues.

I see a lot of spread pins on the OBD2 connector in my line of work. I think a lot of them are caused by the car insurance dongles being plugged in 24/7 bouncing around. I don’t think the OBD2 port pins are really designed to be spread apart 24/7. After some point, they no longer spring back to original position.

I just re-pinned a OBD2 port on a Beetle on Monday for that issue because they were trying to get an state inspection and the machine wouldn’t communicate.
