I purchased and almost complete an axle from another member for the factory locker. I figured out the harness part of it all but I'm fairly certain I'm missing a couple things on the actuator.

    lil crusty but
    79DA2A1D-B1F3-4C82-974C-A9544564EF6C.jpg
I'm fairly positive there's supposed to be atleast 1 little harness that plugs into the longer one that goes to the front of the truck.

Anyone know where I could find one of these?

Also, anyone have a good write up on taking the parking brake cables out of the drums and reassembling it again?

That's the part that goes to the actuator right? Then I can have this guy make me one that I can use for a switch

    Oh, I didn't realize there's a market for this.

I sold my e-locker axle house & 3rd member, I guess I could pull my harness off too.

Well I don't think there really is, this one just happens to be missing this part of the harness.

I don't think many people really go through this but I could be wrong. You probably did right by getting rid of it all in one go

    @JKO1998

Just a thought, since really you're just trying to figure out if anything else is needed.

Why not troubleshoot to see if it actually works (as is)? There's plenty of threads posted on how to energize the actuator and test it (whether on or off the vehicle).

i know that Donut media did a High car/Low car Tacoma build and used a switch for the locker. so, there must be some kind of market for the switches. like someone above posted dark illusions fab makes a switch like is needed for 2nd gens, wonder if i could add this to my Auto E-locker instead of having to wire around the automatic lock up option.

you know I can't remember, but E-lockers were pretty common in our trucks though. I should re watch that series it was one i actually really liked and applied to my life. so much so i even own the Yoda's Tacos t-shirt.

That switch looks pretty crusty. Id more concerned about the vent line though. Not sure why the other guy would have cut it so damn short. Unless theres a union there?

I do think there should be some wires coming up in that area for the motor and internal contacts, but Im working off memory here..

I'm gonna look at my dads offroad and see what it looks like. Glad that's just a vent line.

I'll probably be ordering a new actuator at some point if I can't figure out where to get the harness I need

    Here’s a healthy one.

Both plugs already unplugged but vent line still attached. It just pulls out.

I took the shield off, I dunn why you'd just cut the wires but i guess whatever

Feeling like a new actuator is in the works
