So I bought some 2021 takeoff shocks on eBay. Sounds like I’ll get a little bit of lift, but I want to keep the stock look, so probably going to end up with an AAL.

What AAL is recommended? I’ve seen a lot of Icon progressive AAL. Is that my best choice? I don’t really want a lift, just a better ride.

I’ve also seen people leave their overload on, but the install manual for those Icon AAL’s say to take the overload off. What will this do to the ride height? Still want the stock rake.

Lastly, my new coilovers have painted dots, and are also labeled. Everything I’ve read on here, people are putting the red/green dots on the drivers side. But the coilovers I received are labeled “right” on the one with the red/green dots. To me, drivers side would be “left”. Any direction here?

    Nice, I like it!

I think I’m just gonna go ahead with the shocks and see where that lands me. I’ll hold off on the AAL for now.

I messaged the seller on eBay about the labeling. He says he works at a Toyota dealership and he removed these coil overs himself. So he labeled them as they came off. That puts the red/green dots on the passenger side. I guess I’ll go that route since I can barely tell a difference anyways.

I’m like you, everything I’ve seen says red/green dots on drivers side. Yeah the coilovers are still put together, so I’ll check those top hats and see if there’s a difference.

We have a 1/2 mile gravel driveway, and my truck definitely does not feel planted on it. It feels like I’m just hydroplaning on top of the rocks haha.

So how does this setup affect the ride on a regular paved highway? Will you notice much?

I think that’s what I’m looking for. I’m always leery of changing suspension setups when I mostly like the factory ride, but I’d love a little lift and improvement on rougher roads.

I’ve not really looked into the Sumo springs until now. How would you compare them to doing an AAL? As far as ride comfort and durability.
