Yup my truck is bone stock, yeah the elevation here is killing us. Bandimere is right at about 6000ft. I drove my truck with 1000 miles on it to Riverside CA and was so very impressed with the sea level performance. I am also very happy with my trucks performance here in CO.

I do have a bit of wheel spin. Enough to draw attention. Way more wheel spin than my 2004 titan even with the throttle\brake limiter disabled. I always thought the CO Dmax was slow but seeing as thought a 2008.5 Titan runs a 17.1 sec 1\4 mile and I did an unverified 17.08.... Im happy.... lol Elevation is a HP killer. I am itching to drive my truck to sea level again.

I haven't timed anything, but it sure butt dynos quicker off the line with the ECT button down than not. Once you got it moving and the pedal down all the way, I would imagine it's about the same, but I would think the take off would be a difference. Now I'm curious.

I know I wont get my truck to run 10's I was just very surprised that the truck feels so much faster than my 2010, and it is super nice to drive a truck like the Tacoma. I was contemplating trading up to a Tundra in a year or 2, but now that the Taco is a little older, it has plenty of oomph!!! Hahahahaha....

I absolutely love the oxygen mask comment. I know what you mean. Specially when you get up to 14,000 feet... I cannot imagine a 15.4 sec Tacoma. One of my friends (Used to live here in CO, NY now) has a 2004 duramax with exhaust, intake tuner and gawd only knows what else. 558 RWHP and 1213 lbs-ft and he ran a 15.3 in 4x4 at a track in Syracuse.

Maybe ill mod my truck to add some more power by moving to CA... Hahahahahaha

I’ve actually raced at Bandimere Speedway (back in the day). It is a dream crusher. Colorado altitude KILLS performance.

Still remember when I drove my mustang from Colorado to Florida. Once I came down from altitude, it was as if I was using the nitrous on my car all the time.

The 3g tacoma has plenty of “umph”. More than enough for its intended purpose. It also behaves more like a sports car, in that it loooves to rev high. Thats where the power hides. Cant be scared to get on it.

Oh I cannot agree more.... I am in love with my 3rd Gen and yes, it does seem to like the higher rpm's. Now that I own and ADV bike I do not off road with my truck much at all and the performance of my truck lately made me think about a sway bar in the back quite often...

Why are people so about a Toyota truck being fast? They are slow when supercharged. Get a car with balls if you want speed.

I think the Tacoma is very fast for what it is. I love how it drives. I would absolutely LOVE an older Audi S4, 300ZX, 370Z (or even the 400Z supposed to come soon) and race on tracks but I seriously do not need another money pit right now.... Hahahahahaha
