Howdy 4th gen'ers. after a long debate I decided to go with the 45msrp without the off road upgrade package (jbl sound, power seats, power window, qi charging, sliding window etc) I have a little remorse because I couldnt afford all those options as it was just over my budget but I wanted the off road capability.

The only thing i feel like im losing truly is the horizontal window in the back (even though its tiny) and the AC power in the bed, does anyone know if I still have 12v in the bed? or can i add later on my own? Thank you!

Wait, for 45k, you do not have the plug in the bed and electric / or manual small panel in the window?

EDIT: I use both often, tough to not have them

My son's 2010 Matrix didn't have cruise control. I took the airbag cover off and there was an unused wiring harness connector. Ordered the cruise control switch and a side cover plate and it worked. Total cost of parts was about $40 even though it was a $125 option when new.

I'm sure it's easier/cheaper for Toyota to have one main wiring harness with pigtails for all options than multiple main wiring harnesses for each configuration.

Yeah, They add it to the "upgrade package" which is another $4700 (i thought that was bullshit) that DOESNT include heated seats, that another $785 I opted for the base off road with heated seats. However I heard you can mod it later on just have to have toyota do it

Toyota took away some things that used to come standard on 3G TRD models.

Now you need a “premium package” to get sliding rear window, bed outlet, dual climate control, hood insulation, and something else that I’m forgetting.

I dunno wtf current Toyota USA is doing.

The only thing that scared me off the base model is manual seats. 45k and I have to crank my seat into position? Crazy. With a bad back that was a nonstarter. Upgrade option is best imo

If I’m not mistaken, “basic trim” 2024 Gladiator is the same way.

    Yep.

Same story here when I was looking for a Tacoma. Made absolutely zero financial sense to buy a 1-2 years old taco, so I just bought a brand new 2018. Cost me a small fortune but I absolutely love this little thing.:)

Keeping it till the wheels fall off. Only at 55k miles.

My non premium TRDOR has heated seats, sliding window, and 12v/120 in the bed…

Not that I got to spec it that way or anything- that’s just what it has

But that's with the OR upgrade package, right?

2024 - still haven’t figured out how to change the profile…

I got a IceCap manual TRDOR on 5/15

Thought someone said you had to get a premium to get those options- might’ve misread
