In Canada the base offroad still has heated seats and the rear window. I said on another thread that I built the same truck on the US sight as my Canadian truck and money converted it works out that the US one was 5k Canadian more.

You also get a bunch of additional features that are not on the 3rd Gen. I think it's pretty crazy not to get power seats on the base TRD models, but claiming the price increase only gets you what the 3rd Gen had standard is just not true.

I had an 18 Pro and I like this base offroad a fair bit better.

What features are on the '24 that actually increase the functionality of the truck? Slightly higher capacity is the only one that I can think of.

Well... someone posted this on another forum. This oughta get a few folks cranked up.

25 top upgrades on the 2024 Toyota Tacoma:
    1. Powerful Engines: The Tacoma offers two turbocharged four-cylinder engine options. The standard i-FORCE turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine produces up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. The available i-FORCE MAX turbocharged 4-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain delivers an impressive 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.
    2. All-New Trailhunter Grade: The 2024 Tacoma introduces the all-new Trailhunter grade, a factory-developed overlanding rig built with the latest integrated off-road equipment from ARB, Old Man Emu, and RIGID. This purpose-built overlander is ready to hit the trails straight from the dealer lot.
    3. Baja-Inspired TRD Pro: The TRD Pro trim, inspired by the Baja race trucks, debuts the segment-first IsoDynamic Performance Seat for enhanced off-road driving control and comfort. This innovative seat helps stabilize the driver's field of vision, reducing fatigue on rugged trails.
    4. XtraCab Long Bed Configuration: The Tacoma now offers a new XtraCab long bed configuration, providing enhanced interior functionality and increased cargo capacity.
    5. Advanced Multimedia System: The 2024 Tacoma features an available 14-inch touchscreen display, showcasing the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system. It supports wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, ensuring seamless connectivity.
    6. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0: All 2024 Tacoma models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, a suite of advanced safety and convenience features. This includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Proactive Driving Assist.
    7. North American Design and Engineering: The Tacoma was designed, engineered, and assembled specifically for the North American market. Toyota's CALTY Design Center in California and Michigan led the design efforts, capturing the rugged spirit of outdoor adventure.
    8. Rugged Construction: The new Tacoma is built upon the TNGA-F global truck platform, shared with the Tundra and Sequoia. It features a high-strength boxed, steel-ladder frame, enhancing rigidity and durability. The upper body incorporates aluminum to reduce weight.
    9. Improved Suspension: The 2024 Tacoma offers a newly available multi-link coil rear suspension, replacing the leaf springs in select models. This enhances ride quality and handling, providing a smoother and more controlled off-road experience.
    10. Increased Towing and Payload Capacity: The Tacoma boasts a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 lbs. and a maximum payload capacity of 1,709 lbs., depending on the trim level and configuration.
    11. Enhanced Off-Road Capability: The new Tacoma takes its legendary off-road capability to the next level. It features an all-new front stabilizer bar disconnect, increasing articulation by 10 percent. Multi-Terrain Select and CRAWL Control provide advanced off-road control and assistance in various terrains.
    12. Advanced Safety Features: The Tacoma offers additional safety features, such as Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), and an available 360-degree camera system for improved visibility.
    13. Increased Bed Volume: The 2024 Tacoma provides a 7-percent increase in bed volume, offering more space for loading gear. The aluminum tailgate features a power open and close function with jam protection.
    14. Integrated Roof Rack Rails: All Tacoma models come with integrated attachment holes on the roof, allowing for easy installation of roof rack rails. This enables owners to carry additional gear, such as rooftop tents or canopies.
    15. Power Outlets: The Tacoma offers convenient power outlets, including a 400W AC inverter outlet in the bed and on the rear of the center console for gas models. i-FORCE MAX grades come standard with a 2400W AC inverter. 12V DC power access is also available in the bed and cabin.
    16. i-FORCE MAX Hybrid Powertrain: The Tacoma introduces the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, the most powerful powertrain ever offered on a Tacoma. It combines a 2.4-liter engine with a 48-hp electric motor and a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery pack, delivering a total system output of 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.
    17. Dynamic Exterior Design: The Tacoma's design captures the spirit of adventure, featuring a powerful athletic stance, aggressive skid plates, high-mount headlamps, hexagonal grille motif, and integrated roof and tailgate spoilers. Signature design elements pay homage to the original HiLux.
    18. Suspension Tuned for Each Grade: Each Tacoma grade features suspensions tuned specifically to optimize its off-road capabilities and performance. From red TRD sport-tuned shocks to monotube Bilstein remote reservoir shocks and FOX QS3 three-way adjustable internal bypass shocks, each grade delivers a unique off-road experience.

You've won this round. I can't argue with Toyota's commitment to Diversity and Sustainability. Definitely worth the 25% price increase.

My last Tacoma was a 2006 5 lug that I had over a decade ago, so I can't make many specific claims to the late model 3rd gens.

Transmission and engine are really great feeling for me. I would not believe it's a turbo 4 just driving it around.

The safety improvements are huge for me with my baby being a passenger.

The adaptive cruise and lane keeping make the truck drive itself on the highway and in traffic. I find them to work better than my wife's Honda.

Truck rides great with the new suspension, it's been years since I drove the leaf so I couldn't fairly say if it's better or not. I know I never called the ride in my old truck great tho haha.

I love the interior and tech, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but functionality is somewhat of an opinion so this counts for me.

And at it's core, I can load shit in the bed just as easy as any previous truck. So we can call that a draw

OP I was in the same boat and bought the same package. Ive had my bronze or basic for 1000 miles now and I love it. I used the sliding rear glass in my army green 3rd gen with a topper to communicate with my dogs and stuff but I really don't miss it. The big windowless panel of glass is cool in its own right(looks great with less visual obstruction). I like this new model so much better and don't feel like I missed out on any upgrades even though I really thought I would while waiting the two months to get it. IMG_3853.jpg

only thing I really still wish I had is mirror flashers. those were cool.

When I bought my 18, MT was cheaper by about 850$ or so.

Great looking truck, mirror flashers can always be added later down the road.
