Any idea why a dealership would post this and sell is as an SR5 when it's a TRD Off Road? I'm no expert but it doesn't look like a "fake" SR5 that was made to look like a TRD Off Road.

SR5 and TRD models all show as SR5 if you run the VIN. Not sure about SR. Lazy internet sales dept at the Honda dealer.

Do you actually believe everything you see and read on the internet -- If so --I pity you!
Also if you have doubts-- GO LOOK at it --or at least call them and ask about it.

Actually after seeing this, I wouldn't trust that they know what they are selling.

That's great -- your looking at it is the best thing you could do -- next thing -take it to a good known (to You) mechanic, and have them check it out before buying.
Plus --it looks like they have a person who is in charge of internet postings who does not know his A-hole from a hole in the ground!!

If indeed that is an off-road, and they sell it to you at that price, then you got a killer fucking deal.

Why can't dealers near me be that stupid :/

*edit* I guess since OP already has one, then a killer deal for a prospective customer

Thanks for the sound advice, the mechanic (friend of a friend) that I took it to didn't know about the specific trim models but said that he couldn't find anything wrong with it.

The vin that shows up in that link shows to be a TRD OR.

I traded an 17 OR and when the dealership listed it online the had it sr5. I took the off road stickers off. Idk if that had anything to do with it.

I see where they put it as an SR5..Hmm, someone might have messed up when they listed the truck at the dealer. If you go in to look at it check the vin on the truck vs the one on their listing. Make sure they match.

The VIN matches and I bought it after our mechanic gave it the thumbs up. Clean Carfax, 1 owner, in DFW area for all servicing, etc.
I was really just looking for an access cab 4x4 so everything else is just extra. I got it for just under $25.7k out the door.

I was a little concerned about the high miles on it but the dealer didn't clear out the history in the navigation unit. All of the destinations seem to indicate that it was on the highway a lot.

Oh yea, it came with brand new "mazzini ecosaver tires" 265/70/16. It's hard for me to swap out brand new tires but something tells me that it's probably a good idea.

Maybe go for some Falken Wildpeak AT3w's in 265/75/16.

After that, let me modifications begin!

Great job on your truck. You scored.

    On the flip side -

Some dealers (not all) will post a photo of a more desirable trim level at a base price, to get the attention of prospective buyers. These are called "Leaders". Leader ads are great at getting people into the dealership, or at least getting them on the phone at which point the sales dept. can start in on you.

This is one of the subtle tactics that is used in every facet of consumer sales.

In this case, it's always good to verify by looking at the stock # and correlate it with a vin. All info is on the dealer websites. Be aware and informed and don't get sucked in to the noise and haste.

I wouldn't really call it that much of a deal at $27k for an AC with 50k miles.

I had great luck buying my Gen 1 4x4 from a Honda dealer, low miles and low price, too. Those were the days good deals were easier to find. Now, I couldn’t find a good used deal on a Gen 3, so went with a new one.
