Does the TRD Sport ride higher than the TRD OR? My friend used to have a 06 prerunner TRD Sport and she claims that my 09 TRD OR is lower than the Sport. I don't know anyone else with a 2nd gen Tacoma so I can't just park next to it and compare. Thanks!

No I'm pretty sure the ride height is the same on both.

You know funny you should mention that because my buddy has a off road and I have a sport, I parked next to him the other day and mine did look higher, I meant to ask the same question but forgot. Wonder what others have noticed. It could also have been the parking lot although it is mostly level ground.

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
yeah but I believe the tires are bigger on the OR than the Sport so I would think that would make up for the 1 inch in the rim. I think I heard somewhere they had different springs but I still dont think it would make sense to make the sport higher than the OR. thats it someone who is stock and knows a person with a stock model different from theirs park next to each other and snap a few pics.

brand new trucks will sit a little higher than ones that have been driven for a while because the suspension will settle. A girl i work with has an 09 and when it was fresh off the lot it sit almost an 1 1/2 higher in the rear end than mine couldn't tell you bout the front as i already had my ome shocks and coils installed

The wheels dont make a difference. The tires are 265/70/16, and 265/65/17 respectively. They are the same heights.

maybe the sport springs/shocks have more bounce so they sit a tad higher to have more travel? Just a thought?

tire sizes are same overall height even though the bigger rim size. I believe its the same suspension to, maybe (this may sound stupid) the hood scoop on the sport gives the illusion of it being higher. i know my sport front end looks bigger than a OR but it might just be me

i also can agree that the sports look higher off the ground and the off roads. But i think it could deff be just an illusion from the hood scoop. im really not sure though

When I picked out my '10 Sport it was sitting right beside a '10 OR. They were the same height from my vantage point. I did not want a OR simply because I liked the Sport they had on the lot better. I don't go off-road so all I need is the Sport with plenty of options plus I like the hood scoop.:D I did add a OEM skid plate simply because I could and seen where the potential was there to get some damage without it even on the highway. There are two 1st generation Tacomas on the lot where I work. One is a 4x4 4 banger xcab and a TRD crew cab 4x4. My truck is taller than both of them. I am very happy with my choice, Sport verses Off-Road.
