Just a reminder since its that time of year again and we have been getting a lot of questions about applying the decals in cold temperatures and what is the ideal temperature to apply the decals.

We use ORACLE 651- which recommends a minimum of 46 degrees to apply the vinyl. After doing further research, I have found that the ideal temperature is a minimum of 60 degrees, but no higher than 90 degrees! The goal is to create a solid bond between the vinyl and your truck so your decal will last, so it is recommended to stay within this range.

Colder temperatures= Stiff, hard to work with vinyl, may not adhere properly.

Hotter Temperatures= Vinyl that is too flexible, hard to handle, and the adhesive will be too sticky.

If you bought decals from us but plan to wait for the warmer temperatures to apply the vinyl-make sure you store the vinyl at room temperature! Storing the vinyl in an extremely hot or cold area can damage the adhesive.

I have seen a lot of people mention using heat guns and hair dryers to heat surfaces before applying a decal, but it may be a bad idea if you are not extremely careful. If you put heat on something that is very cold, it may cause damage! If you place a decal on a surface that is hot to the touch, you may ruin the solid bond.

Do not apply when it is raining or wet outside! Ideally, you should apply during dry weather with a humidity level of 50- 60%. Even in dry weather, afternoon application is best so dew and condensation is not an issue.

There are ways around waiting for warmer weather, like keeping your truck in a warm garage (60+ degrees) for a good bit of time before applying room temperature decals, then keeping your truck in that garage for 24 hours before exposing it to cold temps.

I would be interested in a copper kit too. Any sample pic available yet?

We have tried a 'bronze' before, but it was more like a copper or dark gold-depending on the light. It's a great color for letters on the inlays but I prefer the black wheel decals.

Yes, we are able to use Oracal 951 and 751, but the price of the wheel decals will be slightly higher since those two options are more expensive than 651.

Did you use TACOMAWORLD15? It works on the wheel decal listings.

Also when i apply these can i use soap and water to help align? Or just use your youtube video for reference? Also can you post a pic of gloss ones on a wheel and a matte black on a wheel for reference?

I think the matte black would look great! Feel free to message me if you have any questions or concerns before, after, or during application. :)

You can add a drop of baby wash or dish soap to your water. I just have a heavy hand on the dish soap and husband who complains if I leave a watermark on his wheels, so I just use plain water. :rofl:The application method will be the same, but the dish soap definitely allows the decal to 'slide' more into place vs gently removing and repositioning. I will add a side by side comparison of the two finishes.
