    hello,

I recently purchased a 2016 tacoma and as i went over a bump earlier today i heard a wierd clinking noise. As I got home i jacked up the truck and noticed when i took the wheel off and put it back on the wheel wouldnt fit on the hub as a wheel should. The lug nuts would barely catch the threading and the wheel didnt fit snug like it should be. I noticed that the brake caliper looked like it was in the way from the wheel being able to fit. Ill attatch a picture of the wheels that came on the truck. When I purchased it they told me they came off of a 4runner. But as i notcied today and everytime id go over a bump it makes a weird clanking noise. Any help or suggestions on what I may be able to do. Thank you TW!

There's plenty tacos running those wheels...they fit. Is there some kind of spacer that is causing issue, or maybe the wrong kind of lug nut being used? Broken bolt of the caliper allowing it to slip out of place and hit the wheel?

No but i did also notice that the lug nut was sonehwhat large to fit through the holes on the rims. They were rubbing on the hub cap of the rim as they went on

They might be counterfeit China knockoffs or something.

Steel wheels and alloy wheels use different lug nuts, I believe. Might have lug nuts for steel wheels.

Maybe somebody put those on the truck to trade it in, and the dealer never looked at it.

Then I would suggest taking it back to the dealer and having them look at it before any damage is done.

Stock lugs work with these wheels so I am unsure of what the problem is.

This was the issue. It took them well over 24hrs to find.. now they are wanting me to pay over 500$ for the stock shocks that will eventually have the same problem. I was going to lift the truck around august. Thinking if I am going to have to pay that much for those same shocks I might as well find a decent lift for or around the same price. They told me labor would be free if I decided to go with those shocks or find a lift. Anyone know of a good place to find a decent 3in lift for around that price? Ive been recommend to go to socal super trucks, headstrong off road, and 88 rotors. Any other suggestion will help! Thank y’all!!
