I have the Pre Runner TRD with LSD, if I understand this correctly the LSD is automatic unlike the locker in which you can enable it at anytime?
Is the 2wd locker an option at time of purchase, can you do an after market 2wd locker?
    Thanks

the 2wd FULL locker is only on the OR and not an option on anything else i believe. the autoLSD u and I have on the 09 is controlled by sensors and brakes, unlike the 05-08's that had the mechanical LSD that worked better. either way, no lsd or auto lsd is selectable to run constant like the locker

Could you install a locker to a regular 2wd prerunner at a shop, or is that not possible?

My locker has been great. I was hanging with jeeps last weekend in Cleghorn. Thats a trail in Ca. I havent got to test it out in the mud though.

But i have noticed that its not that great on loose dirt steep grade stuff. But if its harder packed then you will have no problems.

I have a Pre-Runner 5spd 2.7L non off-road package. All in all the truck is a very capable setup IMO, although lacks greatly in the traction department due to the open differential. I have weighed the different options(thanks to all who gave their input!) for a few months now and have made up my mind. I will be purchasing the Lock-Right differential locker pretty soon here. I have read a lot of good reviews about this setup and apparently it is pretty darn strong. I doubt I should have any trouble with it granted the 2.7 isn't putting out near the torque as the 4L. The best part about this locker is the cost, all of $360 and can be installed in about 2-3 hours. Pull the third member, install the locker, and its done.

It will be about another month before I take delivery of this locker, but when I get it installed I will make sure to write a detailed review and maybe do a write up for a DIY installation.

I am new here but I wasn't sure if the guy above me meant the same thing. I have a 2WD Prerunner andam very intersted in installing a TRD Locker. I regret not getting a TRD or a 4X4 and want to be able to get through some mud.How much would this locker cost to purchase and have someone put on for me? Just an estimate.

    Thanks

the arb air locker runs about 800-850 and then u have to buy the compressor, hose, etc...so u'd be looking at about $1100 + install

Would the locker always be on or would they install a button to push at certain times? Sorry I don't know much about this
