TRD Oil Cap Quality & Fit????

I searched TW for information and could not locate anything specific. Anyone purchase this TRD Oil cap from www.madhornets.com? I am wondering about fitment for a 2014. The web site says it is for a 1995-2011. Did the oil cap change after 2011? At $22 it is half of what most other vendors are charging. I have black truck so I think black would look nice but no one else offers a black oil cap that I have seen. Anyone buy anything from madhornets.com before?

Give it a shot. At $22 it's a night at the bar. If the quality is good, then you'll have found a goldmine for other Tacoma enthusiasts.

So yeah, fitment should be OK. Madhornets is simply putting a 1000% markup on it instead of 2000% like other US sellers. Just don't be fooled into thinking it's a "genuine" Toyota TRD product (whatever that means nowadays...)

 

Agreed. I had no expectations that it was a genuine Toyota TRD product but I wondered what the difference in quality is. Have you purchased through aliexpress.com before? I can get one there for $6.30. That is about what I would want to pay to see if the quality was halfway decent.

Here 9.99 from Illinois, you will have in a couple of days and can tell us about it. I been thinking about buying one for some time just haven't done it. if you order from china thru ebay I do that a lot it usually takes 2 to 3 weeks. I have always received everything on time and in order.

FYI typically the decal comes separate from the cap, for you to stick on yourself. I bought a "blank" cap with the Toyota thread size and put a TEQ decal on it:

 

I kinda expected that was the case. My expectations are not all that high but I might be pleasantly surprised.

Quality is the same as the same items sold in the US. You are simply doing your own importing directly from China. Shipping takes ~2 months but I've never had a package lost in the mail. In this particular case I would advise buying from US eBay seller, since the prices aren't that different.

The oil cap came in today and I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and fit and finish. As mentioned previously the cap itself is generic and comes with a metal backed sticker. Installation took all of three minutes and I put on the oil cap first so the TRD would be right side up when fully tightened. For $9.99 shipped it was well worth the price. Thanks to @Rod03 for finding the listing.

Aluminum. And it has some heft to it. It really is well machined and well made.
