From everything I have seen, yes.

Lower pressure loss across the filter (more oil pressure where needed) and better particle capture.

I use the Fram Ultra from Walmart (easy to get) but if this is the same or similar media then that's just a personal choice

    Thanks guys.

Guess who’s getting a TRD oil filter for my next oil change.:)

I’m coming up on my 5K oil change pretty soon…

In all seriousness I'm of the camp that the oil is fine, just need to keep the junk out. Good filter and 10,000 mile changes here. I would consider a bypass filter and see how far the oil can stretch, aside from the fact that the extra fittings are probably more risk than anything else (and that its more work).

I'm at a 4k interval just because of driving style. We probably only do 10k/year between 2 vehicles. Would never go over 6k though unless it was all highway.

I am sure that this TRD oil filter does a fantastic job filtering the oil. But those here thinking this filter will make their engine last longer versus using the standard Toyota filter are delusional.

The way things are going, there might not be much of any fossil fuel use 10 years from now. I'd be thinking more about that then buying speedy oil filters, hoping your engines last a few hrs longer.

I rented a Tesla last week on travel. Pretty awesome vehicle but the charging, and the frequency, was annoying.

    • Average household income of electric vehicle owners is +200k.
    • Not much infrastructure to support wide use.
    • Oil is required to make the batteries.
    • China is largest manufacturer of batteries.
    • DC only has a vision for this and NO PLAN on how to execute.

Indeed. That timing cover can leak no matter which filter you use, assuming the frame doesn't rot first.

Problem is, we're getting it shoved down our throats like it or not. I got an 85 year old friend down in Florida thats had a Tesla for a couple years, and loves it. He has owns a condo that has his own charging station. I don't think he does any long range driving with it, as he flys up here to visit.

Poor planning and execution will likely cause a 50 year delay. After 2 years I’m still waiting on delivering a single promise- just one.

A quality air filter helps with this type of filtering too. CAI’s is not a friend here.

I read that the TRD oil filter gained more hp.

Ermahgerd!!!! Really? What kinds of issues can happen if I piss in the face of the Taco Gahds! by using a non-OEM filter bought from some place other than a TerYODA dealer????

How is dust from the road getting into your engine oil? You leaving the cap off and driving without a hood?

Through the air cleaner into the intake. I'm assuming its continuous fine dust particles that gets by the air filter.
