I have a 2010 D-Cab shortbed 4x4/ it says SR5 and TRD off road on the graphic. This is how I bought it from the dealer but it does not have the E-lock button. So but does have other off road features. How do I tell if it's TRD or not?

From everything I've read, if it does NOT have a rear locker, it ISN'T an OR. Sorry if this is disappointing.

    Edit: welcome to TW!!

If it doesn't have the e-locker it's not a TRD Off Road

Probably, someone just put the trd decal on there.

Do you have any recommended aftermarket parts to make it better for off roading?

Hah. ARB air lockers, on board air for lockers, lift kit of your choosing, bigger tires, possible regearing. I think those make the biggest differences, and are coincidently some of the most expensive mods.

Looks like you have a SR5 with the chrome grill, it could of been a trd sport but you don't have everything color matched.

I bought it with 16" cooper discoverer RTX tires on it but have not used them off road. I just got the truck 4 days ago and this is the first truck ive owned. So I'm in the dark about most everything.

Research everything on here, odds are someone has done it. TW will answer all the questions you have but a little hint is to search first so you don't get roasted for asking a question we have all seen 1000 times.

Get some gas, and take it and find some place to drive it, learn what the truck needs, find its weakness for your "off-roading" then decide. Its your first truck, get used to the truck first.

    nothing cool
Did the dealer sell your truck as an off-road model? I realize it's up to the buyer to do the research. But still not cool if it was labeled as TRD Off Road.

Yes they did sell it as a TRD off road and it was the best price Tacoma in my area TRD or not, I spent 5 months looking for one I could afford.

This brochure will tell you what each model/option package is supposed to include.

If advertised as a TRD OR, but only an SR5, that's false advertising. Best price or not, I'd squeeze them to make it right in some way (e.g., money back, new tires, etc).

I have a 2010 Off Road TRD DC... not just the rear locker, but A-TRAC (button is down by the power/ cig lighters) and the Bilstein shocks and the hydraulic brake booster. I think the 110 volt bed outlet is a TRD only feature too?

Here are the TRD OFF ROAD unique buttons:
    A-TRAC:
    1-26-11018_af6f43fe3e0008d8b1ad4a0639574aab9dcaaff8.jpg

Rear (RR Diff) Locker and DAC (Downhill Assist Control):

Your dealer KNOWS what a TRD OFF ROAD has... Make him FIX it or refund you the $2000 Off Road cost! Well maybe not $2000 on a used car?

Check the seats, they should have thigh extensions. If not, SR5.
