I think we crossed wires. I was looking to swap seats with another poster who expressed dissatisfaction with the Pro seats. Disregard whatever my response was to you.

The TRD PRO Tacoma and the Ranger Raptor seem to be on par with tech and probably even reliability at this point, but the Ranger is a lot more powerful with better suspension. The Ranger Raptor costs a lot less, doesn't have to rely on a hybrid system for extra power, and doesn't have ridiculously giant shock absorbers pointed directly at the rear passengers knees. I'd say Toyota got smoked by Ford in this battle.

I have over 50K miles on my 2020 F-150 Raptor and it has been flawless.

If a Ranger Raptor in the right color shows up locally, a trade will be imminent.

In regards to the price, I've commented in other forums that Toyota doesn't just make up a number. Their research says the market will support this price.

Welcome to TW! You're right that people will likely still pay it but it'll be a tougher sell for Toyota this time around given the steep competition in the midsize market. When the 3rd gen came out there was no Ford Ranger, the Colorado was meh, and the Frontier was getting very long in the tooth. Now there are many other very attractive options in the class at equal or lower price.

Thanks. My Tundra, while a great truck, is starting to show the results of 10 Maine winters. I'm tired of heating, beating and cursing just to accomplish basic maintenance underneath. Plus, the wife said "No more Tundras, too big."
    So, here I am.

I still think the TH will be the best seller in the line.

I haven't seen your comparison, and I'm damn sure not searching for it, but the Ranger Raptor has adequate tech and creature comfort for me, and it will certainly certainly outperform the Toyota.

Prices are about as silly as what was expected. I’d also expect to hear the usual chorus:

“10-30% is just a normal inflation curve bro”
“the extra torque is totally worth it”
“stop living in 1995, or 2023..you dinosaur!”

But, I do agree they will still sell, or rather lease.

10/100k warranty on a Ranger Raptor is just a cool $2,400 and you have 0 worries!

^Don't forget the tax man, 7.25% in Cali so $210k :p

Granted this is the SF area, where you pay several thousand a month in rent to afford a converted garage with compost toilet.

I'm not in the market for a TH or Pro, but the prices are right where I thought they would be.
