Was thinking the same. A lot of comparisons to the Ranger Raptor, Canyon AT4X and Colorado ZR2 so far, but for this much money you can get a really nice Tundra, even some trims of the Tundra iFORCE MAX. I know not everyone wants a bigger truck, but Tundra is a lot of truck for $65-70k. Tacoma is not.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the showroom when these trucks are next to each other. Around here, Toyota dealers are doing $5-10k off on Tundras right now too.

is it a crap ton of money? yes but......
Hopefully this keeps highway drivers from buying a 70k off road monster as a daily driver.
    But it wont.
We've seen it with the raptor for years.
These aren't supposed to get most of their work at lowes and driving to work.
Buy what you need, not what you want.

Scaled to the general cost of living. I bet your rural area doesn't have billboards advertising condos "starting in the low $1 millions"...

Hmmm, you got a point. Doesn't make it right IMO.

Also most of our billboards are for ambulance chasing lawyers, so we got that going for us

    Really????
Do U know how many TSB are for the Tacomas?
Also the ones that don't get done during warranty and then you are stuck with it.

Yep, I can say Ford trucks have more visits to dealer service than Tacoma's. Just knowing friends with both and having owned both. I'm sure there's some stat on this somewhere. If I'm wrong, well, I'm wrong.

I knew the TRD Pro would launch around 65k, but Toyota is smoking some serious sh!t. Actually, the folks willing to drop 65k on a gussied up Tacoma must be smoking serious sh!t :rasta:

They'll sell in my area. "Negative Equity Bro" will trade his $900 at 72 months Tundra payment for an $1100 Tacoma payment because it's only 'two hundred more, man!

has anyone tested how this iforcemax drivetrain behaves once the battery is dead? How much of a dog is it? how quickly can the battery recharge enough to provide that advertised torque back?
