While traveling regularly to DC a few years back, I always shook my head at the slogan for the metro line refresh and upgrade: “Back to Good”. Really? Did they pay Fiver for that one? Or was it a preschool competition? Let’s not set our expectations too high now, don’t want to disappoint.

Yeah that slogan came out after a few metro accidents and a fire in 2015 that killed a guy. Getting anywhere close to "good" would be a significant achievement for WMATA. I rode that piece of shit for the last 10 years :anonymous:

    Awesome.

So, it was all shit before that? I love when a new version of something comes out and all the spec sheet racing basically notes the exact, previously denied faults that everyone had with the old crap.

My experiences have mostly been in Japan, Germany, DC and NYC. Not all of them were bad, but the good ones weren't domestic.

The Metro can be sooo bad. But Have you ever taken the X2 Bus across DC? It was so so bad. People peed on the seats, held the doors open to pee off the back.

The cluster fuck that we have around Seattle is pretty epicly horrendous. Causes way more problems that it could ever solve.

Years ago, when they were working on the mass transit system in the San Francisco Bay area, they held a contest to name it. George Deukmejian was the governor at the time. I submitted an entry but it wasn't selected - it ended up being named BART - Bay Area Rapid Transit.

My entry? Bay Area Deukmejian Fast and Reliable Transit System - BAD-FARTS. :D:thumbsup:

this is more common in my area than the pro badge. It’s always an SR or SR5 with huge sport or off-road decals all over the bedsides and sometimes on the doors.

Personally I bought a limited and debadged it when I got home. When people ask I tell them it’s a fully loaded SR5 because that’s what it is.

On another note why do you guys get your panties all in a bunch over badges, is it actually because you think it’s fraud or are they stepping on your TRD pride. I know those 3 letters can mean a little to much to some people.

And did anyone ever stop to think it’s an inside joke between the owner and other parties. I usually laugh when I see V6, V8, 4x4, GT, or Type R badges on things that aren’t, it doesn’t offend me, nor do I think it’s fraud.

Don't have a TRD so I don't have TRD pride. I buy bottom level SR5s and build them myself the way I want. I've done it with 3 tacomas and a 4runner. I just don't like posers.

I'm gonna leave my SR5 badging on for the times I pull the stuck TRD-Pro out of the ditch. Mostly for the cherry on top of the humble pie.

We're all here because we love our trucks and I'm all for personalization/customization etc. Drive what ya got and make some new friends.

My belief is that it is more so a "validation" issue.

Pricing makes this argument an issue because we know how much entry level Tacomas cost in comparison to the line-up leading to the more expensive model in the group, The TRD Pro.

I would love to have a Pro but I did not want to spend upwards of $45K for my first NEW truck. I set a budget below $40K and got what I wanted.

Some have lower budgets...and that's OK. Making an issue over badging is (in my opinion) unnecessary but others may feel differently based on their own beliefs.

These trucks make us happy...in the end, that's all that matters.

The first-year BMW Z3s for the US market weren't badged with engine size - you only had one option. The Euro spec versions had a stripped down 1.8i or a 1.9i that came with upgraded features. I ordered the badges for mine - a 1.9i first year roadster that is still running strong. No ///M posing and you might leave me behind on the straights, but get into some tight corners and I might be digging into the lower gears but you won't shake me off. :D

Only one? That’s disappointing! Figured there would be more there. We have several in my area.

Very nice. I’ve always liked that model, particularly in the hardtop.
