Once you go, let me know what you think... Personally, the peacocks were my favorite part. The way they get them to wear sunglasses and gold chains is truly amazing.

I’m one of those who would rather NOT have a sunroof in my Pro.

Toyota should change the rear TRD Sport stickers to say TRD Mall Crawler. :santa2:

Have you heard many posters here claim how smart Toyota engineers are to defend some of its components THEN in other posts boast how they’ve modded their vehicles? I would think if they felt so strongly that Toyota engineers to nothing then the best they would choose a Pro versus a different model and mod-it-up. Hmmmm. Scratching my head on this one.

I don’t think I’d agree with your claim. I’ve made that assessment.

I know you're making a point, and it's fair, but I'm not sure how it applies to my post...

The mention of engineers and mods made me think of that. Not jumping on your back but giving you credit for spurring a tangential thought.

Cool. I just wasn't sure what I said...

I'm a bit guilty of this. Installed the Pro suspension, because I wanted to keep everything OEM. Ended up replacing them with ADS (then later Kings), as they weren't adjustable and I added too much (aftermarket) front end weight.

Live and learn, but I had zero issues with quality or performance when my truck was in the proper weight range.

Normally when folks add aftermarket parts is not because they care of adding resale value.

It’s always better to bring the car back to stock and sell the aftermarket parts separately.

we’re not talking about engine or transmission parts. We’re talking about shift knobs, leather seats, headlight, lift kits, badging and such. The aftermarket parts I use are quality and they last as long. Like I said, as long as I have the crawl control, diff lock and multi terrain, personally I’m good. The rest of the items added to the pro that comes from the factory doesn’t interest me and it’s just extra item that I can easily get a quality aftermarket parts with my own customization with less price. Some of the aftermarket parts I got have warranties and are good enough to last as long.

Question: DOes Toyota assign legit Pro models w unique "pro"-identifying VINs?

Yep, and you don't have a TRD, you have a SR5.

I believe there are only 3 unique models... TRD Pro, Limited, snd SR5. Your truck is an SR5 with a TRD Offroad package.

Pretty much the same mind set that causes folks to get a lift (of any quality, but particularly low quality) add 'aggressive looking' tires and black wheels.

Yet never go off road in conditions that need any of that.

It's called 'because they want to'.

Then that makes these "pro" bros who have non-pro VINs just posers. Let them do their thing so we can have a laugh. Those are the dudes that end up breaking their trucks anyways. I would never do that. I have an Off road--if I got a Pro there'd be an intervention. The Off Road stays an Off Road. This is as funny as people who get inches of lift on their trucks but never increase the tire size. So it looks odd.
