Spent a long time lurking before this first post and added unholey mount and premium knobs from @wileydavis
    Vinyl from @CBoy808

and then made the mistake of looking at build threads from @tubbsisland and @JerryTaco
and ordered up the dual led bar setup they're rocking. Just awaiting shipment from @SDHQ OFFROAD and then I can get to work putting that in.

Gonna miss the old Raptor, but really excited and happy with the Taco

Right on man!! Very nice truck! Excited to see what you do with it. You'll be VERY happy with the light setup. Clean, subtle and extremely well thought out. SDHQ definitely produces some of the best stuff out there

Yeah I liked what SDHQ had done with the Raptors on the Ford Raptor Forum, awesome to see they gave attention to the new Tacomas.
Got the Pro with full intentions of leaving well enough alone, but this forum can empty your pockets quick.

Ha ha that it can!! And their raptor stuff is top notch. Having them 15 or so miles from my house is very bad news for my bank account. But always cool to see their projects... Expect more Toyota products in the next several months. Sliders are next into production and I can honestly say that they are hands down, the best I've ever seen.

Yeah I saw their poll thread, and I think some pictures from @tubbsisland and @JTS2014TACO had some version of it on their trucks.
I'm waiting to get in on their sliders when they release too.
You and Tubbs are killing me; such good builds for inspiration.
I blame you guys if/when I upgrade this suspension.

Ha ha, thanks man, I really appreciate it.. I blame it all on Cliff. His truck is amazing. Sliders are coming very soon. A few minor tweaks based on the feedback but the major design is still in tact. Structurally, they will be the strongest sliders available.

Suspension wise, can't go wrong with this icon setup. I love it. Still planning on adding the rear bump stop kit and maaaaybe upgrading to their Omega bypass shocks in the back. I keep thinking my mod list is getting shorter, but then I add something else... that whole one project begets another thing.. and so the cycle continues.. Nice choice on wheels btw.

My buddy just got a 2017 trdor that I put anew icon stage 4 kit on last week and he's waiting on the method con6 that he ordered from sdhq

The new Raptors are a notch above the old Raptors, save for the sound and rumble of the V8.

My old 2010 Supercab does feel like it has a bit more refinement and quality feel than my new Tacoma. The Tacoma engine took some time getting used to after the Raptor. And the reputation for Raptors outperforming everyone else is on point. I've taken it onto a couple runs with other Raptors and had it for 6 years. Not one problem with it. Bulletproof.
That said, my off-road adventures are no longer wide-open trails or desert running, they're more narrow. And that's where the Raptor feels out of place offroad (at least for me).

But the primary reason I traded was that I live in the Bay Area (peninsula) and drive into the city every now and then. Being my DD, the Raptor felt like being the shameless obese person taking an airplane ride. It's just too wide for everyday driving in congested areas. You either feel like you'll rub other people either side of you as you go down the lane or you just plow right into them. And parking was just horribly uncomfortable. Too much squirming to get the door open to get in and out.

You're not gonna go wrong with Tacoma or Raptor in any event. Just depends on what you plan to use it for.

@JerryTaco I swore up and down I would not touch the suspension for at least a few years.
That's why I went Pro, good suspension with the dress up bits at just under msrp.
But I don't know how long that promise will last....

From the start, I knew I'd be changing all the suspension which is why I went with the OR.. one sacrifice was losing leather seats, but I'm currently working on changing that. I'm about to pull the trigger on some katskins which will finish out the interior nicely. But should you decide to swap suspension, Icon and King are both my top picks. Living in the Bay area, I'd assume that you sometimes make it up near Tahoe? The added ground clearance will definitely be a big benefit up there... I grew up outside of Reno and spent a ton of time on the trails all over northern NV and northern California

Yup I go out to Tahoe a lot. There's a lot of trails in that area that I plan on visiting with this setup. I'll definitely hit you up on suspension tips when I decide to become one of those pro owners who toss out the stock stuff eventually haha

Ha ha, hey, on the plus side, you can likely sell that pro suspension pretty easily..

Tahoe is definitely my home stomping grounds. All of my family is still up there, with the exception of my uncle who lives in Santa Cruz. Cousin is the president of the Pirates of the Rubicon. Love hitting that trail. Great way to spend a weekend

I can't wait to see what your truck turns out like. I do have the pre production set on my truck with the feedback this forum provided @JerryTaco will probably get the first production set of sliders as there are some minor tweaks. Jerry and cliffs trucks are amazing so don't feel bad if they make you upgrade your truck. Enjoy the tuck at your own pace.

Thought it was crazy when a member traded their '15 Tacoma TRD Pro in for a '17 Tacoma TRD OR, but this is a new level.

I lived on the peninsula for a year and regretted only having my truck for the last month. Definitely missed some good fun to be had both north and south of Monterey county.

    ~90,000 problem free miles.

For my needs and uses, I don't regret the trade at all.
My opinion is buying a Raptor is the same as buying the TRD Pro. There's no logical NEED for it and I would never call it a practical vehicle for a daily driver. You get it cause you want it.
