I just picked up a set of Ion 133 rims for a great deal but am not all that fond of the big chrome center. The bore hole on the Ions is 108 and the factory wheel bore being 106.1. I'd like to run the TRD pro center but it's too small and just falls through the bore hole on the Ions. Just curious if anyone has custom fit this center to the Ions already (I couldn't find anything) or if anyone would have any ideas on a way to make it work?

Those were on my list of black/polished wheels but didn't care for the wording on the lip and yes, the center cap thing. Ended up going with AR Fuels instead. Those had a hideous long chrome center cap but luckily AR sells a stainless short cap and went with those. Not sure other than maybe lucking out with a black plastic one from some other wheels on the IONs. I liked those better but just didn't want the writing on the lip.

WAIT...this just in........I actually went with no center caps until getting the shorter ones and used black caliper paint on the hub centers and the rr axle centers. Not the best thing I guess but it didn't look too bad, for the time being.

Yeah I don't care that much for the writing either but I can live with that. The big center cap has to go though.

Any have hub centric rings on their rims? I can get some cheap on ebay that would go from the 108 to the proper 106.1. That would give me the correct bore size that accepts the TRD center. I've never used any of the hub centric rings though? Do the fit on the rim nice and tight? I'm thinking that could possibly be an option if there was a way to mount them to the inside front of the rim bore.

Thanks for the link. That answers a few questions for me. I was wondering if an epoxy would hold up with the heat from the brakes. Looks like it should. I don't really want to cut my centers though as much as I don't like them. Think I'll save them in case I ever sell the Ions. I'm thinking I may be able to use a bit of pvc pipe and epoxy that to the inside of the rim and notch it so that the trd center will fit into it and hopefully click into place. I think this will be my little winter project. :)

Nothing fancy but it's in good shape and works. :) Bought it in 1998. All original body panels and no rust. Was originally a 6 but currently has a tired old 350 in it with some decent parts on it. In the process of building a 383 stroker to drop in it, hopefully this summer.
