My 2wd would have made through most of what I a saw. that was no test of a pro's features.

 

I don't think crawl control got them out every time. Of course being a Toyota sponsored video they aren't gonna show everything That first time they got stuck he reversed way to fast to be in crawl control.

surprised they left the "ram it" part in the final cut.

And yeah i know its a commercial, but in RL Toyota is stilll king.
I just saw a fully decked out (for off-road) Ranger getting towed from the mud and hauled off on a trailer.
Oh well as they say, when the going gets tuff, only tuff can keep going!

A hairdresser, extreme pedal biker, and a what-the-fuck dude. My wife's Escape could have done it.

Half cooked goose necks, crunchy grubs, and cooked unhatched embryos are easy-peasy.

I betcha those helicopters made the natives nervous, though.

My thoughts from back in March after watching:

Yeah, funny thing was they never actually showed the crawl control working or doing anything for that matter. Like when the 4Runner gets stuck, they yell at him to turn it on, shows him reaching for it, and then cut to a secen where it's flooring backwards. Same thing when the Tacoma got stuck in the river... Yells to turn it on, cut to scene where it's pedal down powering forward.

Did the Crawl Control actually work??? Who knows? Maybe it go them out of the rut enough to get traction and that's where the scenes pick up with them escaping, but that's not how Crawl Control works. I get it, a scene where a wheel is torquing back and forth isn't very dramatic television, but you would think Toyota would want to showcase what makes these vechiles "unique"... I use that word loosely, because the Off Road models also have Crawl Control... But still.

You would think a series would make more sense. As much as Toyota probably forked out for this shoot, getting the vechiles there, production, etc, that was a pretty short show... Just felt like it would have been better suited as a 20 minute YouTube mini movie or something on the official Toyota channel... More people probably would have saw it at least. Must be nice to be Andy Bell and friends, get paid to travel around the world for a couple weeks of shooting to produce what amounts to a long commerical... Nice work if you can get it.

 

Its a posibility on any of the new ones.
But i've never have been carried out on a stretcher after a grueling match on any of my Toyotas like all the others lmaoo!

But I will say, that Ranger got carried out fighting like a champ!
