Forget needing a worthy off road package, just make a damn locker available in the Tundra. I really wish everyone would follow the way GM and Ford does it with having a locking rear diff available as an option on pretty much any trim truck.

But, I doubt this will be any Raptor competitor. Nor do I really think they need one. People seriously into that type of wheeling build their own rigs anyway. I'd venture to guess most Raptors mainly see driveway duty (not saying they're not capable).

The guy said himself he was going 125mph off-road and suffered no damage and the rest only got bent frames? That's capable. I love my taco but it can't survive 125 in a dessert with jumps from the factory. Those who bent their trucks pushed them too hard.

Your truck isn't mid travel from the factory either.

My point was that the Raptor isn't exactly a mall crawling rig some make it out to be.

And I understand. But just because a truck can be jumped under factory warranty doesn't mean to try and clear the Grand Canyon or WRC/BAJA race them either. Stay within limits set by manufacturer and you'll be fine. The owner's manual states the height and distance of a jump and the witness stated the other guys exceeded the limits. I'm not saying I wouldn't exceed them, but I wouldn't go crying to Ford when I broke it. You can afford to straighten the frame if you can afford the Raptor.

I do have to say that Toyota is taking a step in the right direction. I hope they put on some decent shocks and springs to at least give the vehicles some improved off road credit and wheel travel then Toyota has failed. But hey we will just wait and see what Toyota is going to do in February.

Who was making it out to be that? I see you quoted me, I was merely pointing out that most of these aren't being run in the desert, not that they're not capable of doing so. I see tons of them here in PA. We have no desert. Same with most states. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Most people buying performance vehicles will never see a day at the track in their life.

I love the grill and high clearance bumper. Looks great IMO, way better than a stock Tundra.

To bad it's using a super outdated power plant.

Makes me sketched out about doing a run like this again. Fast forward to somewhere around 2:00sh; obviously not as fast as they were going but ya..
