I think I stumbled across that one as well, but did not save it and can not find it.

Any idea who manufacturers the TRD PRO Exhaust? Is it Borla? If so, any idea if it is their "Touring" or "S-Type" muffler?

You can't remove the tip from the exhaust, its welded on. And its made by Toyota so far as I can tell, nothing on it screams "aftermarket" to me.

You shouldn't have an issue, I've personally painted an entire exhaust on my old wrx. One the burnt paint smell goes away your fine. Like others said above too I have also seen plenty of people painting exhaust tips with no issue.

Looks like it is called out as a "black chrome exhaust tip"

Thats just a tip. The TRD exhaust is one piece and is welded.

Not at Tacoma exhaust, but I did my Vance and Hines full exahust on my Dyna with the VHT. The key to it is good prep, that makes the difference between it looking professional and looking half-assed. If you're gonna do it right, sand blast the surface beforehand, and be sure to buy the VHT primer as well.

ONLY DO THIS OUTSIDE I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. I sprayed mine in my parents garage and that shit got everywhere, my dad was ready to shoot me.

It'll take 3 heat cycles but after that, it should be good to go. For an inexpensive option, it can look pretty nice.

I removed my exhaust and painted it black with the VHT and it still looks nice 2 years later. With that said be prepared to re-coat it every now and then if you drive allot of gravel roads.

I usually just give the end a quick spray about every 3 months. I sanded the tip once in 2 years to paint. Maintenance is minimal effort.

Its not welded on a 2017- there are 2 inserts you have to remove in the back after you unclamp it - is 2018 different?

Oh- TRD special - never mind.

Finally they're putting JBL in the pro. That and a long bed are the only things I miss in this truck.
