Was curious. Going to keep the chrome SR5 grill surround, that and reflective/metal Toyota lettering reminds me of an old school Toyota pickup.

Looks great. Mine landed yesterday. Any tips or tricks for those of us yet to to do this task? We’re you able to leave the stock grill in tact?

The original is white. The current TRD Pro approach is what I would call...metallic charcoal? Navy called it silver. It's in there somewhere. I think the faux grill nails the TRD Pro look. But like you Phil, I'm thinking about chrome as well...but how would you apply it well? Or white....but that would be unlike any other part of the truck. It works here, though...

    Looks great! Tips?
I'm on the fence with buying a color matched and putting new pro surround in case just keeping the chrome.

I'm diggin' the chrome. At the Indy 500 last week, I happened to park next to a barcelona red DC TRD Sport, not sure the year, but 12-15, in other words just like mine, but color matched grill (and soccer mom equipped). I stopped and asked my girlfriend and the other 2 women with us which they liked better. A half dozen dudes playing cornhole and clearly toasted after 10 hours in the 90 degree heat overheard and all offered the same opinion...color matched looks cheap. I was stunned. Now, these are Colts fans...so take it with a grain of salt...but I'm jus' sayin'.

Take the two screws off on top and the two pop clips in the top corners then grab a lower corner with one hand and reach in behind with the other and pull and push. It should pop right out and keep going till you have the opposite corner loose.
Get a second person when pulling the chrome piece off the old grill makes it easier having them hold the parts apart as you unclip them. Take your time so you don’t break anything. It’s all plastic except for the screws.

    All,

I’m getting quite a few PM’s in general questions that are all covered in #1. Please read it thoroughly, as I might not be able to get back to those request within your desired timeframe.

Also, for those who are sending the payments for round two, thank you! Note, please read the detailed instructions as of what is requested to be added to the notes. This will save time, expedite the ordering process and reduce errors.

    Thanks!

    Just started working on it
The reason I asked you about the letters is because my factory grille you couldn’t take the letters off. I bought a DBcustomz grille but if I wanted to go back I was thinking of going to this

I’m thinking metric paint, and very careful masking.

My first Toyota was a 94 pickup, and I seem to recall the pickups in the 80’s having an option for chrome/metal front grills with a metallic Toyota emblem.

Got my Faux Pro grille from another retailer but I really dig it. Quality is great, and it's held its color and shape for over 8 months. Changes the entire look of the truck, for the better!
