Yo! So glad to have found your post brother.

I just scooped up a set of 2018 TRD pro shocks I wanna put on my off-road, but the rears definitely need some love. I am not thrilled at the idea of sending them to fox after hearing some strange stories on other forums etc. How can I go about starting the process of shipping this out to you my man? I would love to make the 25 hour drive from socal but I just used up my vaca time for the GF's birthday lol o_O. So glad it seems like your active on these posts! Been a few days and fox still hasn't emailed me back. let me know brotha!

You have 2 options. Send them to fox, who has all of the access to drawings, work instructions, tools, and correct components etc. Or send them out to someone who has zero access to drawings, work instructions, proper tools, and replacement components. Not sure why you would generally find strange stories on other forums.

There are pro's and con's for both factory shop and small shop. At my previous job I worked with few racing shock builders along with major parts suppliers.

These Fox shock specs are not hard to figure out for a good builder with a fresh set of shocks and a shock dyno. Those with active electronic/ pneumatic controls+sensors plus triple/quadruple bypass are a different story.

Someone at the factory being paid at $25/hr ain't gonna care about what's going into your shocks.

A shop owner getting paid $500 to do a set would.

    Competition is good for us.

there is a 3rd option: buy all of the tools, equipment, seals, fluid, etc... and rebuild them yourself.

Had a local 4runner swing by the other week to have all 4 kings rebuilt. Got them cleaned up and rebuilt for him and riding like new.

I’d say this to the comments. If you’re mechanically inclined and feel comfortable taking off your suspension and rebuilding it yourself by all means do it. I love working on my own truck so totally get that.
If you feel more comfortable sending them to fox then do that.
If you want me to do it then I’m happy to. Perks of choosing me is turn around time and communication. I send you pictures along the way and work on it like it’s my own suspension. I take my time with each set and due to lower volume of customers still maintain a day or two turn around time.

Just to clarify, I was not disparaging anyone for sending them to you for rebuild. just pointing out another option, but for most people, the cost of tools and nitrogen charging would most likely make it a wash. If I did not have everything I needed already, I would 100% send my stuff to you for rebuild.

Another cement Taco in for some tlc. Tires were rubbing but after installing his eibach lift blocks and springs that was remedied. One front had nitrogen in the oil and gave me a shower but they are looking and riding like new again.

Hello. I have the TRD Pro Fox suspension for my tundra. I need them rebuild but I also need the bushings replaced. I'm in southern California and you said you're in central Texas. Shipping would be very expensive for me and I'm having a hard time looking for bushings. Can you sell me the front bushings and rear bushings please? I would really appreciate if you can.

@shockteq I have a 2019 TRD Pro 4Runner and would like to have the front & back rebuilt. Do you still have the loaner set or is turnaround quick enough to send over and get back? How do I get in contact with you to discuss?

@ian2016: Do you have a set of rebuilt Tacoma TRD PRO Fox shocks (2017-2019) for sale? My 17’ is nearing 70k miles and I’m looking to rebuild/replace, but don’t want the truck out of commission throughout the process. I could send you the set off my PRO once replaced (for pricing consideration).

Just got my shocks back from @ian2016

His turn around time and communication is great. I even got some progress pictures of what my shocks looked like inside. Highly recommend Ian’s shock services.

I can’t believe how different my truck is with these over the 5100’s I had on it before. Ride on the rebuilt Fox’s is so smooth, feels like our terrible roads are magically nice. Ian’s work is awesome!
