I've got a set of 3rd hand early Pro shocks with something funny going on - the shock bayonet is sticking out more on one side (edit: PS) than the other and the bushing is loose, and I've got about 3/4" of Taco Lean despite the alleged built in compensation. I've been rooting around PartSouq but can't seem to dig up anything for a Pro model; does anyone have a parts list or diagram I can reference?

I had them rebuilt by a local shop, so someone has been in there before - botched reassembly and/or lost parts is a possibility. He said he had previously only done Raptor shocks before, otherwise it was powersports that was his uusal fare. This may have been my red flag, but I figured it was just seals and shock oil, right?

Also - the eagle eyes will notice I do have shims on the top hats and non-OEM flange nuts; I made 10mm for the driver's side and 9mm for passenger side to level it out a bit with my rear setup. I previously had 3G OR struts on with a single 1/4" shim on the driver's side, but still had about 1/8" lean, so I biased them a touch; so still having 3/4" is a bit concerning. It did seem to drive fine however.

    Thanks for tagging him!

Doing some rummaging around the youtubes, I found a Wescott lift installation video that showed the parts broken down. I am thinking the washer under the top hat is either missing or inverted. I'll try and get it pulled apart tonight to see if this is the case..I have serious doubts about this explaining the lean situation though.

@Murphy'sSidekic made these. I’m willing to bet you’re missing the bushing under the top hat or the washer that goes on top of the shaft guard. Part numbers are in the pictures

Awesome, thank you! If I hadn't already had these rebuilt I'd ship them off to you. :annoyed:

So I took it all apart and...nothing missing or installed upside down. The strut mount *looks* ok outside of a little wallowing out; but I guess that doesn't mean the rubber hasn't collapsed a bit like the upper bushing. Given the state of the rubber on these, I may just have to suck it up and replace them...I guess I am not done throwing money at this thing yet. :spending:

So my lower bushings are split/cracked/not looking the greatest; I can make out 90389-Axxx1 on them, but the X's are in a torn up section and I can't quite make them out. When I start to look up that number though, an -A0001 number pops up as a suggestion, and the bits of numbers I see look like they could be 0's. Do you know if that's the right one? And while I am futzing with this, is there a number for the rear lowers as well? I'm tempted to just send these to you, but shipping will be about as much as the parts, and I do have a press.

Original springs? Do the part #s match DS/PS? A fresh set of coils will only set you back about $225-250, and you could dial in the ride height in a little, if desired, potentially get rid of the shims, and go back to the factory top hat nuts with more thread engagement.

They look original but I didn't notice P/N on the springs. Allegedly they had 37k on them when I got them, but the guy I got them bought them from someone else, so who knows. The rears have S/N 0074 on them, so unless they restarted the serializing on them annually, these are some of the older ones around. By assembly though I do have the DS/PS on the correct sides. Are the springs side specific or is the perch just a bit higher on the driver's shock? Anyway since I now had everything apart I was going to get the extended studs from Headstrong and go back to the OE bolts. I'm making the spacers myself so that's probably the easier way to tune the ride vs. swapping springs at least; although now I do see these are prone to breaking..

I just pulled the driver's side apart and it looks ok as well, although the rubber bushing that seemed to be part of the mount came out separately; is that bushing and little retainer not available separately?! I didn't see a P/N on it and it isn't shown in the breakdown above. Seems silly to replace the whole mount over that, especially when those parts can be bought for the rear shocks. The wallowing out was only on the passenger side, and had made it through the retainer but hadn't quite goner all the way through the bushing and in to the mount itself yet.

So there’s the washer that goes on top of the shaft guard. There’s also a bushing that is vulanized to the inside of the top hat. If that’s gone you might as well replace the top hat. Amazon sells them for a great deal. I’ll pm you some other info. Rear bottom bushings aren’t replaceable but all others are. Unless you took it off you’re also missing the top nut on the shock shaft and the bushing that goes under it.

Side to side the spring part numbers are the same. Drivers side collar is slightly higher which adjusts for taco lean. There’s small letteing on the coil spring collar that says which side also but if you can’t see it just measure it.

Thanks for taking the time here - greatly appreciate it! Everything is accounted for - I just had them off in the picture.

Are the Amazon top hats you're referring to OEM or aftermarket?
