    Was that the problem Truck King experienced when the Tacoma transmission broke? I can't recall what gear he was trying to find.

    So if I understand this correctly, the OP was driving a 24 Pro with Manual Transmission when the tranny failed????

    So, the Pro doesn’t even come with the manual. This is why you shouldn’t just panic on everything you see on the webz.

    Automatic transmission have their own TSB and the manual has it's own TSB. Both transmissions have TSB.

    I can't imagine buying a new 60k Tacoma and being afraid to drive it because you're afraid of being stranded...

    I get why you feel that way OP, just saying it must be a real kick in the pants to be left in this position.

    Pops was in 5th trying to go to 3rd Toyota said they hit 1st. I have a 24 manual and a anything over about 5km and I can't get it in.

    So I have been offered a reduced dollar amount for the platinum warranty by our dealership.( (I asked for this compensation)
    I had the transmission replaced, (yes it was under warranty), however days off of work, and other issues. Maybe I am being an a$$ and entitled?!?! Any thoughts? Who? What? Where? As always, thank you group for helping/suggesting!

    Ditto with Gfenza89!! I am in a ‘21 TRD Pro having multiple issues with “bad head unit “ going on my 3rd HU. Beginning to think that there is a problem beyond the HU causing the issue. Toyota / dealer have thrown a ton of time and techs at it - they still think it is a bad HU - 3 times???
    Back to Smidgelet - sorry that you are going through this. IMO You have every right to request compensation in the form of Platinum Extended Warranty at Toyota’s expense. That is the least that they could do to restore faith and send the message that they understand and are / will be there for you throughout the ownership of your new truck.

    PS To be fair - Toyota and dealership have been fair - giving me loaners and paying for parts and labor - and I am at 36,500 miles.

    Thank you! I don't mean to be entitled, but hot damn, I am a bit nervous about future repairs down the road. I spoke with a rep. today, she said she will email my case manager. Fingers crossed I receive a call back. HA Unlike having no tow truck responding to my stalled out vehicle. I get things happen. I am trying to be understanding! Any more tips, please do not hesitate to send me info/questions. ( :

    **UPDATE***

    Some wonderful news. The truck was repaired on Wednesday and arrived at my house yesterday morning. Couldn't be happier right now, it is driving amazing and no issues transmission wise thus far. So, here's to thousands or worry free miles. Appreciate you all for your interest and following along.

    As far as compensation is concerned. It was sent to me on their dime, the 10 year warranty and covering the payments from then until now, as well as rental reimbursement. The selling dealer apparently has some goodies that they are sending over as well, I will let you all know what that ends up being. But for now, enjoy these photos of her being home.

    That is awesome! So glad that Toyota and the dealership did the right thing. Now all you have to do is worry about where you park it - stay away from those rogue shopping carts!
